The two most local dive sites which are both quite close to the coast of Camino are Santa Maria Caves and Lantern Point, both of which are reached from shore. These dive sites offer shallow cave dives, even for divers without a cave certification and at Lantern Point divers can dive through tunnels and caverns, over large boulders and between steep reef walls. There is also the option to dive courses off the coast of Comino.

The climate in this region consists of hot, dry summers and wet, cooler winters. The optimal time for diving is between May and September when the waters are the warmest and calmest. Water temperatures range from 13°C/55°F in the midst of winter to 26°C/79°F in August. Visibility is above average throughout the year, ranging from 20 meters/66 feet to 40 meters/131 feet. Air temperatures range from 12°C/54°F to 27°C/81°F.
