Top Wildlife Sightings in Watamu

Watamu offers favorable diving conditions year-round. Water temperatures range from 25°C–30°C/77°F–86°F, providing comfortable conditions for divers. Visibility typically ranges from 10 to 30 meters/33 to 98 feet, influenced by tides and local weather patterns.

Diving is possible throughout the year, with the best conditions from November to April when winds are calmer and currents are mild. The period from May to October can be less favorable due to the southeast monsoon, which may bring stronger winds and reduced visibility. However, even during these months, divers can still enjoy the vibrant marine life and coral reefs that Watamu is known for.
