Blennies are small, bottom-dwelling fish commonly found in coral reefs, rocky shores, and tide pools around the world. They are easily recognized by their elongated bodies, large eyes, and often expressive faces. Many blennies live in crevices or holes, using them as shelter from predators. They are well adapted to life close to the substrate, often resting on surfaces and darting quickly when disturbed.

Blennies are known for their curious behavior and bold personalities, often interacting with divers and defending their small territories. Some species are herbivores, grazing on algae, while others feed on small invertebrates. Their adaptability and role in controlling algae make them important for healthy reef ecosystems. Despite their small size, blennies are a vital and entertaining part of marine biodiversity.

Vaersenbaai (Kokomo) (★4.3)

The beach is an easy entry shore dive with parking just a short walk from the water. The actual dive site just offshore is called Car Wrecks as the bottom is covered in a bunch of sunken cars. To see the cars descend from the blue buoy line and watch your depth, it can get very deep very quickly at this site.

Octopus Island (★4.9)

A small but fascinating rock formation surrounded by sandy bottom, rich in marine life and perfect for underwater photographers. Its sheltered position, excellent visibility and easy diving conditions make it a top spot for relaxed dives at all levels. Maximum depth: around 13–16 metres.

Location: In front of Juara Scuba Academy dive center. Can walk straight off the beach and dive into underwater experiences; Depth: 8m; Current: Sometimes mild current; Site: Sandy bottomed bay ranging between 2 - 5 m which moves into shallow fringing reefs.
