The Assistant Instructor rank is the next dive instructor rank after becoming a Divemaster. It enables you to gather valuable teaching experience, practice briefings, teach academics, and train in the water. If you want to further become a diving professional, you can complete an instructor training course, pass an instructor assessment, and become an open water diving instructor.

  • Amount of Pool/Confined Water Sessions 6
  • Minimum dives for certification 75
  • Maximum Training Depth 40m
  • Suggested duration in hours 35 - 42
  • Amount of Academic Sessions 1

Certification Prerequisites

Divemaster certification, Minimum 60 logged dives (totaling 40 hours dive time)
