Participant Requirements and Obligations

Mandatory prerequisites (Certifications & Experience) :

• Minimum age: 18 at the start of training.
• Certification level: SSI Divemaster certification (or equivalent certification from another recognized organization for a Crossover gateway).
• Experience required: A minimum of 75 logged dives to start the ITC, with a minimum total of 100 dives completed to qualify for Instructor Evaluation (IE).
• Additional training: Be certified in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Oxygen Administration (O2 Provider) within the last 24 months (e.g. React Right or equivalent).

Required documents and forms (before August 20) :

• Medical certificate: A medical certificate of fitness for scuba diving signed by a doctor, dated within the last year.
• SSI forms: All SSI administrative forms (Disclaimer, Professional Membership Agreement) duly completed on your MySSI profile.
• Online theory: 100% of the ITC Digital Kits must be completed on the MySSI application before the first day of the course.

Equipment and materials to be brought by the candidate :

• Complete, professional diving equipment: mask, fins, snorkel, wetsuit, BCD (stabilizing BCD), complete regulators (with alternative air source).
• Mandatory accessories: Dive computer (with new or recharged battery), compass, knife/cutting tool, and surface marker buoy (SMB) with reel.
• Personal logistics: Your logbook (physical or digital), previous certification cards, swimsuit, towel and sun protection (environmentally friendly).

Important Information & Terms & Conditions

1. Rates and invoicing

• Training price: $3,200 USD + 13% VAT.
  
  
• Inclusions : This rate includes the ITC (Instructor Training Course), IE (Instructor Evaluation),e-learning kits, certifications and shared accommodation.

2. Accommodation Options

• Standard Option (Included) : New, clean and functional accommodation. Rooms are shared (maximum 4 people per room) with shared kitchen and bathroom.
• Private / Couple option: For candidates wishing a single room or for couples wishing a comfortable apartment, a supplement of $100 USD per night (for 1 or 2 people) will be applied, plus 13% VAT.

3. Catering / Meals

• Internal Organization Option: We can provide 3 meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for a budget of $40 USD per day.
• Self-management: Candidates may choose to organize their food independently.
• Important note : In the event of specific allergies, diets or complex religious restrictions that would complicate our team's logistics, the candidate must manage his/her meals independently.

4. Equipment rental (weekly rates)

If you do not have your own equipment, the following rental rates apply:

• Full equipment: $70 USD / week.
• Major missing item (e.g. dive computer, stabilizing vest/BCD): $20 USD / week per item.
• Minor missing items (e.g. Parachute/SMB, Mask): $10 USD / week per item.

5. Prerequisites and Upgrades

The basic fee assumes that the candidate already meets all the training entry requirements.

• Not included: Certifications missing from the candidate's file and any necessary refresher courses (whether practical, physical or technical) will be invoiced extra.

Cancellation and Payment Terms - Instructor Training

1. Terms of payment

• Deposit : A deposit of 50% of the total amount is required at the time of booking to secure your place.
• E-learning access: Access codes to the SSI e-learning platform will only be activated after receipt and validation of this 50% deposit.
• Balance: The outstanding balance (50%) must be paid in full by August 1, 2026.

2. Accommodation Option (Individual Apartment)

• Booking: A supplement of 50% of the accommodation price must be paid on booking.
• Balance: The remaining 50% for accommodation must be paid directly on site, on the day of check-in.
• No accommodation fees for shared rooms

3. Cancellation and Refund Policy

• No refunds: Once a course has begun, no refunds will be given for any reason. As a general rule, ChrisDiving applies a strict no-refund policy for all sums paid.
• Insurance: Candidates are strictly responsible for taking out, at their own expense, travel cancellation insurance or training interruption insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances.

4. Weather conditions

• Training is maintained regardless of weather conditions.
• The center has protected dive sites to cope with unforeseen circumstances. In the event of extreme conditions making sea outings impossible or dangerous, all practical sessions will be switched to and validated in the pool / protected environment. Weather adjustments will not entitle you to any refund or compensation.

Examination level (IE / IA)

1. Level Required on Arrival

• Theoretical and Practical Mastery: Candidatesmust arrive fully prepared. They must have a thorough knowledge of SSI Standards and diving theory.
• Actual Divemaster level: The technical and theoretical level of an active Divemaster must be fully mastered from day one. The ITC is an educational course, not a remedial session for previous levels.

2. Assessment and Upgrade (Compliance)

• If a candidate shows any deficiencies at the start of or during the course, a compulsory refresher course will be invoiced extra.
• This refresher course will be scheduled according to the availability of the teaching team, with no guarantee of being able to catch up with the initial schedule of the current ITC.

3. Criteria for the Final Examination (Instructor Evaluation)

• Ongoing assessment: Candidates who fail to meet the performance criteria and level required at the end of the ITC will not be presented for the final exam (IE).
• Sovereign Decision: The decision to refuse a candidate's presentation to the final evaluation is at the sole and sovereign discretion of the Instructor Trainer, whose professional responsibility and certification are bound to SSI.
• Re-Registration Fees: In the event of no-show or failure, no refund will be made. Candidates will be required to register for a subsequent session, and will be responsible for the full cost of the examination or additional training.
