Advanced Training and Mastery in Mermaid Swimming

The SSI Mermaid Level 2 is an advanced training course designed for participants who have already mastered the fundamentals of mermaid swimming and wish to develop their technical skills, comfort in the water, and mastery of the monofin.

This training goes beyond a simple introduction to mermaiding by focusing more specifically on swimming technique, body control, coordination, movement, and safety skills.

The goal is to help divers gain independence and fluidity so they can move more confidently and tackle more technical exercises.

Training Objectives

Upon completion of the training, participants will have developed the ability to:

• improve your swimming technique with a monofin;
• optimize your body undulation and propulsion;
• improve its position and hydrodynamics;
• effectively coordinate the movement of the body and the monofin;
• have greater control over their movements;
• change direction and depth with greater control;
• develop your comfort in the water with the mermaid fin;
• improve their effort and breathing management;
• apply the safety principles specific to mermaiding;
• perform technical exercises with greater fluidity and precision.
• create a choreographed routine that combines all the techniques learned during the course

Prerequisites

The Mermaid Level 2 course is designed for participants who already have experience in mermaid swimming and have mastered the fundamentals necessary for using a monofin.

Prerequisites

• Must have completed Level 1 – Try Mermaid
• Be able to swim 200 meters without touching the edge of the pool
• Mastering the Mermaid Wave
• How to Do a Forward and Backward Roll

The specific prerequisites and expected skills are verified by the instructor before and during the training.

Safety and Independence

Safety plays an important role in the Mermaid Level 2 course.

Participants will deepen their understanding of best practices for diving responsibly with a mermaid fin.

Special attention should be paid to:

• mastery of the equipment;
• knowing one’s limits;
• effort management;
• breathing;
• mastery of movement;
• the ability to maintain control in the water;
• the implementation of safety procedures and guidelines.

The goal is to gradually develop greater independence while maintaining a responsible approach to the activity.

After Mermaid Level 2

Level 2 allows participants to consolidate their skills and progress toward more advanced mermaiding.

In particular, it can serve as a stepping stone toward more technical, artistic, or athletic training, depending on the participant’s goals.

Progress can then lead to various activities: technical diving, artistic swimming, athletic training, underwater photography or videography, or continuing the SSI training program in a natural environment withOCEAN MERMAID SSI.
