Best Spot Azores began in 2007 with a small dive center located on the north coast of the island. The owners, both divers, have been diving since 1998 and have a wealth of experience diving in the Azores, as well as having dived all over the world.
The Best Spot team is made up of experienced instructors, some of whom are even marine biologists. We have been running courses since 2007 and have trained over 2,000 people.

Natural reef with depths ranging from 5m to 18m. It is made of 2 parallel walls along the coast that create protection and allow diving from beginners and advanced levels.
Dive Spot characterized by the existence of numerous historical anchors found along the Ponta Delgada marina. After cataloguing them, they were placed in front of the São Roque Islet in order to create an artificial reef and a new dive spot.
A lava escarpment area and the formation of a stone arena and sandy bottom with a large area. Possibility of drifting or even diving to 30m. Possibility of strong currents.
A range of rocky walls along a strip more than 100m long. The dive starts in a shallow depth and allows you to drift while maintaining the wall throughout the dive.
Spot about 15 mint by boat from Ponta delgada Marina, characterized by the presence of volcanic arcs and finger-shaped walls along the coastline. Excellent for drifts and shallow depths of up to 25m. Its proximity to the chocolate factory gave it its name.
Characterized by the presence of volcanic arches at a depth of 30m, which makes it attractive for deep dives. It is possible to start the dive in a shallower area at 12m and to dive up to 18m without going to the location of the arches, for open water divers.
A wreck from 1883 called “LUSO“ that was identified by the Best Spot diving center. A scattered wreck that allows for drift diving and where you can see the propeller, boilers and scattered areas of the ship. Maximum depths of 14 to 18m but with the possibility of going shallow.
It’s 15min by boat from Ponta Delgada marina. With the possibility of diving from the shore, this dive offers sandy bottoms, arches and rocks. The depths range from 4m up to 20m.
Rock mass almost at the surface. Characterized by a lighter rock that allows for shallower dives or dives to a depth of 25m. A place where pelagic fish pass through.
This is a wall dive with shallow area at 12m and bottom at 28m with mixture of sand and rocks. Presence of passing pelagic marine life. Walls with black coral. There is a possibility of drift diving here.
Located in front of Caloura village. Characterized by a huge cave 16m deep with several light entrances. The possibility of drifting through different volcanic arches.
This rocky area used to be an anchorage for boats visiting the Port of Vila Franca. It is characterized by having several scattered anchors from different periods, some of which are still intact.
This dive site is ancient underwater volcano that came to the surface when it erupted in 1811. Currently a pinnacle 22m deep allows large pelagics to be observed passing through.
This Pinnacle started a top of 26m and walls that can go up to 45m deep. Excellent for passing pelagic species and for anthias with some benthic species present.
Located on the western part of Ilhéu of Mosteiros, it is characterized by passing marine life and larger species. Possibility of deep dives and strong currents.
