Swim Teacher Level 1
The Swim Teacher Level 1 training program covers preschool and school-age children. The SSI swimming school methodology is based on a structured sequence of skill-building stages—from simple to more complex. Each step is aimed at mastering the basic elements of a specific swimming style, as well as developing and reinforcing safety skills. This structured course allows the instructor to master various effective techniques:1) a playful adaptive period; 2) teaching the child diving skills, submerging underwater, and floating on the water; 3) assisting with preparatory and basic exercises. All stages of training incorporate playful techniques. The next stage involves mastering the backstroke as a fundamental skill that forms the basis for safety skills, among other things. The program also includes teaching the bilateral crawl stroke until near-perfect coordination is achieved, starting with the “windmill arms” swimming technique while holding one’s breath, followed by coordination elements related to side-breathing techniques. These sequential steps, progressing from simple to complex, are highly effective. Level 1 also covers the stages of mastering the so-called “simplified breaststroke” in the “backstroke” position and the “front crawl” position—breaststroke arms, crawl legs. This stage is very important before mastering the breaststroke with full coordination. Children learn it through a series of steps progressing from simple to complex, and it also forms the foundation of safety skills.
