This globally recognized certification program is the best way to begin your lifelong adventures as a certified scuba diver. Personalized training is combined with in-water practice sessions to ensure you have the skills and experience required to become truly comfortable underwater. You will earn the SSI Open Water Diver certification.

In this specialty program, you will gain the advanced skills and knowledge you need to safely and confidently navigate underwater. You will learn how to use a compass and natural navigation techniques, estimate distance, how to leave and return to a designated point, plus basic navigation patterns. You will also be taught how to combine navigation techniques to enhance your diving experience. All of which hones your underwater observation skills, improves your dive safety and helps you to get the most out of every dive. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Navigation Specialty certification.

It is easy for dive skills to get rusty and to lose confidence when you have not dived for a while. With the SSI Scuba Skills Update, we will get you back in the water and diving with ease in no time. This scuba refresher course allows you to review and practice scuba skills you learned in your Open Water Diver program, under the guidance of an SSI Professional. This is a great course to take just before a dive holiday, so you spend less time worrying about your skills and more time admiring the marine life. If you are a non-certified Open Water Diver student, a Scuba Skills Update is ideal for practicing your dive skills before your open water training dives. With no fixed course duration, you can take your time and focus on the skills you need help with.

As a Nitrox diver, you can increase your bottom times and safety margins, plus shorten your surface intervals - so you can spend more time diving and less time waiting! In this program, you will learn new skills and increase your diving knowledge whilst learning how to safely plan and dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen. Upon completion, you will earn an SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification.

Join the Indy Dive Center for a fun (cold water) Underwater Easter Egg Hunt on April 11th, 2026! Our “scuba bunny” will hit the water early and hide colorful Easter eggs all over the quarry! Check-In and regular diving will begin at 8:00am on April 11th (Don’t forget to submit your digital waiver for 2026!) We will have a quick brief with divers to go over safety and event rules, then it’s time to GO DIVING! Divers will have an opportunity to go searching for eggs from 9:00am – 11:00am. Be sure to turn your eggs in for your candy or prizes at the front counter before 11:30! Some eggs will correspond with candy prizes, and some will correspond with larger prizes. Final announcements and prize winners will be announced at 12:00pm noon. Diving ends for the day at 2:00pm. We will have one GOLDEN EGG that will be discretely hidden by our divers. Whoever finds the golden egg will also win a “Goodie Bag!” (Also announced at noon) This is also a CLEAN UP EVENT! A special prize will be awarded to whoever collects the most trash before 11:00am as well. Remember to bring your collecting bags or Easter baskets to collect your eggs! This is a cold water dive. Divers are required to wear appropriate thermal protection. Minimum 7mm, hoods, and gloves. Remember that it will be April in Indiana. Dress for the weather! If necessary, we will provide supplemental surface heat like other cold water events. Practice good buoyancy divers, and the conditions should be excellent! No pre-registration is required this year. Ok early birds...Let's go diving! Indy Dive Center will be open for those divers who are ready to be the first to hit the water on Sunday, April 26th from 12:00pm – 4:00pm for regular diving. Most all of our dive team will be on site preparing for the upcoming season. Come and introduce yourself, meet new buddies, and be the first to dive France Park for the 2026 Season! The water will be beautiful and the Paddlefish will be slow(er). Note: Water will still be chilly for this event. Full 7mm wetsuits, hoods, and gloves are minimum recommended thermal protection for this dive. Full 7mm suits are available on site to rent for $20/ day. Don’t forget to sign your digital waiver prior to arrival! Regular admission and gate fees apply

Join us in OPENING FOR THE 2026 DIVE SEASON! Official Opening Day is Saturday, May 2nd, 2026. We will open for the season at 8:00am on Saturday. Come see us every weekend, from the first weekend in May, through the last weekend in October. We are open Saturday and Sundays from 8am – 5pm. Don’t forget to visit our website to complete your waiver for the new year and dive season. (Once completed, you’re set for the season!) Minimum full 7mm suits with hoods and gloves are recommended for this time of year. Wetsuit rental available on site (full 7mm, no hoods or gloves on site) for $20 per day. “Over the years, you all have taken some truly stunning photos from under the water, here at beautiful old Kenneth Quarry at France Park. There is just something truly impressive about the art of underwater photography… We loved your entries from last year’s contests, and have decided to put bragging rights back on the table again in May 2026! Last year’s winner had their photo featured on our digital sign board at the shop all season. How it works: Go diving at France Park (old Kenneth Quarry) any weekend in the month of May (through end of Memorial Day Weekend), and take your best underwater snap shots! Take your photos any of the following weekends in 2026: ( Extra weekend to get your best shots in 2026!) Full Photo Contest Rules: Eligibility: Photos must be taken in-water, at France Park (formerly Old Kenneth Quarry), during one of the listed weekends in May of this year’s contest. Any professional or amateur photographers may submit entries for this contest. Minimum age to participate is 10 years old. Minors must have a parents consent to participate. Diving photographers and subjects must be minimum open water certified. Freedivers must also have equivalent training from a recognized agency and a buddy with equivalent level of training. Mermaids follow same guidelines as Freedivers. Photos may feature divers, wildlife, attractions, or interesting features, et… Photos engaging in any unsafe behavior, poor environmental practice, or harassing wildlife will be disqualified. Submission Guidelines: Photos only. No videos. Maximum of 2 entries per participant. Photos may have basic digital editing and color correction, but no AI, heavy manipulation, or composite images will be accepted. All participants who submit photos are confirming that they have read all of the complete rules and guidelines for the contest. Watermark or caption with artist info can be added, but must not distract from the photo. By submitting entries, participants also confirm that they own the rights to their photos and that they have not been copied in any way from another artists work. By submitting, participants also understand and agree that photos will be shared on social media and other channels by the shop (credit given to the artists if no watermark or caption is added) and potentially for marketing purposes. Participants DO still retain full ownership of their photos and may request that they be removed at any time. Judging Criteria: Judging will be done by way of “likes” on social media channels Facebook and Instagram between the following dates: 8:00pm EST on Monday, May 26th, through 8:00pm EST on Friday, May 30th, 2026. The photo with the most combined likes between both Facebook and Instagram at the close of the above date is declared the overall winner. (Second and third place will also receive a shout out.) You have asked and we have heard you! Indy Dive Center will open for regular recreational diving from 12pm – 6pm on a Friday of every month all season. (Usually the last Friday of every month.) Get to the water and have a little fun before the busy weekend crowds. Regular daily diving admission applies.

The SSI Try Scuba program is your introduction to the underwater world. This entry-level program provides you the opportunity to experience the underwater world. There is no need to sign up for a more in-depth course to see if diving is right for you. Not sure if diving is for you? Enroll in our Try Scuba class and find out! Try Scuba’s are typically offered on a first come, first serve basis every weekend at our France Park location, starting the first weekend in June and ending the last weekend in September. Students are encouraged to check in at the desk at 8am to finish registration and to be assigned a time to dive. In our Try Scuba class, you’ll start off with an academic training session with your Instructor. This is where you will meet your instructor and learn more about the rules of scuba diving, and an introduction to your equipment. Your in-water session will begin with you in shallow water, simply breathing air from your tank. You’ll be given the opportunity to move into deeper water as you become more comfortable. This allows you to enter the underwater world at a pace you are comfortable with. If you and your instructor are comfortable, you may be offered the opportunity to venture into slightly deeper water (max 15ft), where you have a chance to meet sunfish, catfish, and even Paddlefish! (Additional $20 per person.) (Approximately 60 minutes total.) Indy Dive Center conducts all classes with the highest degree of integrity, with the goal of offering the best possible experience. This course makes the perfect addition to any boring weekend. Join us for the 12th Annual International Women’s Dive Day on July 18th, 2026! Originally created by PADI, Women’s Dive Day has become an international phenomenon in it’s 12-year history and is celebrated by all. Over the years, this widely celebrated event has brought divers and water enthusiasts together from across the globe to celebrate women’s contributions to the sport of scuba diving, as well as diversity and inclusion in our aquatic world. “EVERYONE is welcome” We will be playing funky beach tunes and making new dive buddies all day. 8:00am – Event Starts We will start the day right off at 8am with Try Scubas and Mermaids! 12:00pm – Cake and snacks provided. Divers and mermaids are welcome to bring snacks to share. 1:00pm – Meet a buddy dives We will have a fun “Meet a buddy” game. Come mix things up, meet a new buddy, and go for a dive. 3:00pm – Dive with the mermaids at the platform! CALLING ALL MERMAIDS! Join us at Indy Dive Center France Park on Saturday, October 17th for one last night dive for the 2026 season! Bring your own pumpkin and carve it (bring your dive knife!) on one of the platforms. We will provide a weight and glow stick for you to leave in your Jack-O-Lantern and leave it on either our shallow, or main lower training platform for other divers to view between 7-10pm. It’s a spooky fun dive! Divers can go back to collect their pumpkins at the end of the dive, or leave them and our team will collect the glow sticks (provided) and feed the remaining jack-o-lanterns to the hungry bluegill. (Fish love pumpkin!) We will have a limited of pumpkins to share. Night Divers are asked to have at least one flashlight and tank lights are requested. Regular admission applies for night diving.
