This cargo ship is 53 m long and 9 m wide and weighed 660 tons. It was built in the late 1940s in Canada. After serving in the Mediterranean for Lighthouses and Beacons, it was posted to Point à Pitre in 1990 to maintain the markings for the Antilles Guyana area. It was retired in 1994.
Very little dived site located south of Bouillante with a multitude of fish, corals, and other sponges to discover! Close to the shore but accessible only by boat. The starting point is at 7 meters in a canyon where lionfish hide. Then the site opens up in all directions.
Anse Thomas is a less popular site that is close to the shore (departure from the shore possible from the car park of the hot springs of Thomas). There is a big rock at 4 meters deep under the boat with a nice canyon for the start of the dive where you can find all kinds of tropical fishes.
Anse à La Barque is home to species not common elsewhere. It is a large and long stone that stretches for one hundred meters of the coast towards the west, starting at 4 meters from the shore down to 23m.
A beautiful site ... among the others! It’s a tongue of lava sinking for some twenty metres. Very simple orientation, with a small drop off on the right.
A little frequented dive site located outside the National Park, south of Bouillante. The dive takes place on about 15 meters between rock tongue and coral heads.
A real garden ... Photographers’ favourite site! Let yourself be intoxicated by the multitude of corals and sponges. Shallow, accessible from basic diver, the walk is endless between sandy seagrass and volcanic rock, and there are plenty of surprises to discover!
The “Sec Pâté“ is a legendary dive in Guadeloupe. This dive is right in the middle of the Saintes channel. It’s one of the most beautiful dives in the world. But be warned, this site has to be earned... To get there, we rely solely on the weather, which is very capricious in the Saintes channel.
This dive site is located at the exit of Bouillante, accessible from Anse Duché, and is also called Anse des Tortues. The dive starts in a few meters of water and then takes us on a nice vertical wall before descending about 12 meters along the leeward coast.
Sec Delgres is one of the few drop-offs in Guadeloupe Island. Swimming along this wall is magical. If you are lucky, you might even see a dolphin!
Rocroy is a magnificent dive, extremely rich because it is so rarely visited. It is a plain bordered by clear sandy paths. This dive is suitable for all divers, from beginners to experts, everyone will be delighted.
