Drysuit diving opens up a world of possibilities, including diving in remote Arctic destinations and exploring cold-water dive sites teeming with life. Dry suit diving also lets you stay warm on repeated dive days, when you don't want to spend your time getting in and out of a cold wet suit. The Dry Suit Diving SSI specialty program is the best way to become a drysuit diver, and teaches you all the knowledge and techniques you need to dive safely and comfortably in a drysuit. You'll learn how to use this specific piece of equipment, made up of a drysuit and a diving jacket, what its advantages are and how to deal with emergency situations, which are specific to this type of diving. In this specialty program, you'll develop the advanced skills and knowledge you need to navigate safely and confidently underwater. You'll learn how to use a compass and natural navigation techniques, estimate distance, leave and return to a designated point, as well as basic navigation patterns. You'll also learn how to combine navigation techniques to enhance your diving experience. All this sharpens your underwater observation skills, improves your diving safety and helps you get the most out of every dive. In this introductory program, you'll learn everything you need to freedive safely with a buddy in a protected pool/environment to a depth of 5 meters. Online training is combined with in-water practice sessions to give you all the skills and knowledge you need. On completion of the program, you will receive your Basic Freediver SSI certification. During the Advanced Open Water Diver program, you'll discover 5 different specialties by completing one open water training dive per specialty after a full briefing with your SSI Instructor.
