The SSI Open Water Course is the first step into the world of scuba diving. It is designed for beginners who want to learn how to dive safely and comfortably while discovering the underwater world.The course is usually completed over 3 days and includes three main parts. First, the digital theory, which you can do online at your own pace to learn the basics of diving, equipment, safety, and how the underwater environment works. Then you will practice important skills during confined water sessions (pool or shallow water) to become comfortable using the equipment and breathing underwater. Finally, you will complete four open water dives in the ocean, where you apply everything you learned with your instructor.By the end of the course, you will receive your SSI Open Water Diver certification, which allows you to dive up to 18 meters anywhere in the world with a certified dive buddy.It’s a fun and exciting course that opens the door to a lifetime of underwater adventures.

The SSI Advanced Open Water Course is designed for certified divers who want to gain more experience and discover different types of diving. It is a flexible and fun program that allows divers to try several specialty dives while improving their skills and confidence underwater.The course typically includes five adventure dives, each focusing on a different aspect of diving. One of the dives is usually a Deep Dive, where divers learn how to safely explore greater depths (up to around 30 meters depending on age and certification). The other dives can include specialties such as navigation, perfect buoyancy, drift diving (waves, tides and currents), night diving, or underwater photography, depending on the dive center and conditions.Each dive includes a short theory briefing with the instructor, followed by practical training in the ocean. The course is usually completed in two days.After completing the program, divers earn the SSI Advanced Adventurer certification, which confirms their experience in several types of dives and allows them to continue exploring more advanced environments or pursue full specialty certifications.It’s a great way to expand your diving skills while enjoying some of the most exciting dive sites.

SSI Open Water Course + Advanced The SSI Open Water Course + Advanced program is the perfect way to start diving and quickly build your experience in the underwater world. This combined course allows beginners to become certified divers and then continue directly with advanced dives to develop more confidence and skills.The program starts with the SSI Open Water Course, where you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving. This includes digital theory, confined water training to practice basic skills, and four open water dives in the ocean. After completing this part, you will be certified as an SSI Open Water Diver, allowing you to dive up to 18 meters with a certified buddy.Once certified, you will continue with the SSI Advanced  program, which includes five adventure dives focused on different diving experiences. One of these dives is usually a Deep Dive, allowing you to explore deeper sites (up to around 30 meters depending on age). SSI Deep Diver SpecialtyThe SSI Deep Diver Specialty is designed for certified divers who want to safely explore deeper dive sites and understand the procedures involved in deep diving. This course focuses on the techniques, planning and safety considerations required when diving beyond standard recreational depths.During the training, you will learn about deep dive planning, gas management, nitrogen narcosis awareness, dive computer use, and proper descent and ascent procedures. The course also covers safety techniques specific to deep diving, including gas monitoring, buoyancy control at depth, and emergency procedures.The program includes three open water dives completed in one day, allowing divers to progressively explore deeper depths under the supervision of an SSI instructor. Throughout these dives, you will practice deep diving techniques while gaining confidence and experience in a controlled and safe environment.After completing the course, divers receive the SSI Deep Diver Specialty certification, allowing them to dive to a maximum depth of 40 meters, depending on local regulations and dive center policies.

SSI Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) SpecialtyThe SSI Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) Specialty is one of the most popular diving courses, allowing divers to use breathing gas with a higher percentage of oxygen than standard air. By diving with Enriched Air Nitrox, divers can extend their no-decompression limits, reduce nitrogen absorption, and often enjoy longer or safer dives.During the course, you will learn how to safely plan and conduct dives using Nitrox mixes, typically EAN32 or EAN36. The training focuses on understanding the benefits and limitations of enriched air, how to analyze the oxygen content in a tank, how to set a dive computer for Nitrox, and how to calculate the maximum operating depth (MOD) for different gas mixtures.A key part of the course is learning oxygen exposure limits, dive planning, and safe handling procedures when using enriched air. Divers will also practice analyzing their tanks and properly labeling them before diving.The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox course is usually completed in half a day to one day and is mainly theory-based.
