This site is the most popular dive site on Madeira Island, located around 100 meters offshore. The sea bed consists of a sandy bottom where huge rock formations lie creating the perfect environment for the famous Dusky grouper. Can be done by boat or from the shore by car.
★★★★★ Scorpio House Reef
Perfect dive site for beginners, diving and snorkeling. The dive site in front of the center has an easy entrance accessible to all starting from 2m to 12-14m with a small wreck on the right side of the tip.
★★★★☆ Baixa do Lobo
Located just a few minutes Quinta do Lorde Marina you will find this seamount not far from shore. This is a boat dive only.
★★★★☆ Baixa da Cruz
Located offshore from Machico village, in front of 3 Marias dive site, Baixa da Cruz is less than 100 meters from the shore. This dive begins at just 3 meters, with a small peak and gets deeper until reaching 35 meters on a sandy bottom.
★★★★☆ Baixa das Moreias - Clube Naval
In front of Clube Naval do Funchal, this rocky reef is home to plenty of marine life. Easy immersion for beginners. Navigation is not difficult, as the reef extends in an east-west direction.
