Located offshore from Machico village, in front of 3 Marias dive site, Baixa da Cruz is less than 100 meters from the shore. This dive begins at just 3 meters, with a small peak and gets deeper until reaching 35 meters on a sandy bottom.

The black coral is just one of the attractions along with massive schools of barracuda and salemas which are usually present around the seamount.
