The nearby jetty can be used to enter this dive or you can enter from the shore through a very nice small canyon leading you to the clear blue water. This dive starts with a sloping sand bottom where you can choose to head to the north or south reef.
This is one of the most famous dive site in Egypt. The Elphinstone Reef is full of healthy corals, magnificent clear blue water, and rich marine life. It is also a great destination to see your first shark.
Abu Dabab North is a significant dive site located in the Marsa Alam zone with very easy access from the shore. This site is suitable for all diver levels and snorkelers as well. It can be easily accessed from boat and shore (boats can only access the site from outside the bay).
Elphinstone South is an amazing off-shore reef dive and preferred by many as an afternoon dive due to the fantastic lighting. The dive slopes down from 18m deep to the deepest top of the plateau at 40m.
A fantastic dive site that can be accessed by daily boats or as a shore dive. Shallow with a sloping bottom toward a north or south running reef. The south reef can be reached by Zodiac or from the shore.
Reef and coral garden in front of Abu Dabbab Bay. Beautiful cave with bright light inside. Small and old wreck beautifully covered with soft corals. Approachable by zodiac.
Entry through a hole in the reef top directly into the reef at 6m depth. Beautiful coral garden with single reef blocks and black corals.
Main reef with a fall from 12 to 30m and slowly degrades with several pinnacles. Current: little or absent. Entry and Exit depending on sea conditions.
Also known as El Masduda, The Cave’s entrance, and exit is through 2 long canyons with closed and open spaces. The main route is marked with a rope. Outside the main reef, you will find many wonderful, small pinnacles with a depth of around 15-18 meters.
Easy dive along the coast; max. depth: >40 meter; distance: about 15 minutes in north of Port Ghalib. Boat diving. mostly slight current from north to south.
Also known as Shoni Bay, this site has an easy, sandy entrance with the main reef to the north and south. On the south side, around 80m from the main reef, beautiful coral blocks are found with a lot of colorful hard corals.
Lies in the bay of Abu Dabab, entrance via the sandy beach or it is approached by Zodiac. Beautiful coral blocks in 14, 16, 18 and 24m depth.
In only 6 min by speedboat you reach the small, but fine, reef. The upper edge of these coral blocks is between 2-3m below the surface and drops to 10m in the south, and 15m in the north.
Access to the dive site is with the zodiac. This is one big coral reef. The waves make strange shapes on the reef, making it more interesting. This site is surrounded by small pinnacles.
