
The cargo S/S Gilda, loaded with magnesite and equipment at Triest, ran aground and then hit a mine 3.5 nautical miles WNW of Punta Salvore (Point Savudrija, Croatia) on June 23rd 1915. Gilda sank in three minutes time, but without loss of life. It is on 26m split into 2 parts which are 48m from each other.
Landing boat wreck from 2nd world war. 23m max depth, top of wreck is on 16m. The wreck is turned upside down. Penetration is possible, but only with an experienced guide.
Maona is a wreck with no engine - it was pulled by other boats. Sunk in a storm. About 40m long. Bottom is at 21m, top of the wreck on 16m. Interesting dive. must be careful with buoyancy.
Under the Church of Piran is a reef applicable for diving beginners and advanced divers. The reef offers good diving conditions with usually no or little current. The average depth of the dive site is 13m but you can also reach 23m in the sandy area. Diving is not possible in the case of strong North Wind.
Underwater Triglav is interesting for Advanced or Expert divers who want to check the deepest point of Slovenian see. It is a dive into the blue and it becomes quite dark towards the bottom. It is a nice dive for deep water training or just to make sure you can say you have visited the deepest point of Slovenia!
