Our operation at Le Meridien Resort & Spa started to become alive in September 2021. Together with the island developer we were able to contribute our practical knowledge for Scuba Diving and Watersports to the construction of the island. That means our outlets are highly functional and provide our guest with the best possible comfort. The top reef boasts an array of healthy hard corals, providing a habitat for a diverse variety of marine species. Along this reef slope you can tick many things off your bucket list: green and hawksbill turtles at cleaning stations, large schools of snappers, surgeonfish, pufferfish and unicorn fish. Looking into the blue, passing reef sharks as well as eagle rays can be spotted! If you are lucky, you can even have amazing encounters with manta rays. Further out from the reef, in “Macroworld”, macro photographers will feel immediately at home. Proving size doesn’t matter, you can find amazing species of shrimp, pipefish, nudibranch, worms and crustaceans to keep you entertained. ★★★★★ CANDICE THILA

Candice Thila is a beautiful small reef with it’s reef top around 5m and its bottom at around 30 meters. It is located 15 boat minutes north of Le Meridien Maldives

★★★★★ Le Meridien House Reef

A vibrant and beautiful House Reef at Le Meridien Maldives is located at the north side of Le Meridien. It is sheltered from the elements and accessible almost the entire year for divers and snorkelers alike. Le Meridien Maldives stunning House Reef offers more than 5 different dive sites. Including a small wreck.

★★★★★ OOKOLHU FARU

The dive site itself actually consists of two dive sites that are divided by a sandy plateau at 8 meters. South of the plateau we can find a large lagoon with an average depth of about 12 meters. On the other side towards the north and north west a sloping and long reef called faru ranges from 10 to 30 meters.

★★★★★ Ahga Giri

Ahga Giri is a small reef with its reeftop at 5 meters. The place is famous for its resident nurse sharks which grow quite big at the place. A stunning experience without any comparison!

★★★★★ Miyaru Gaa

Miyaru is the Dhivehi (Maldivian) word for shark. Gaa means as much as “Block“ in the local language. Putting both parts together creates the perfect description of this place. To be more precise “Nurse Shark Block“ would hit the nail on its head...

★★★★★ Fushifaru Thila

This pinnacle is located in the northeast channel of Lhaviyani Atoll. You can find a large plateau covered in coral blocks that act as cleaning stations for the manta rays during the southwest monsoon.

★★★★★ Runway

Runway got its name from the parallel established Seaplane runway. It is an easy and beautiful dive along a coral slope full of marine life. Starting from 2 meters at the top the reef reaches a depth of approximately 20 meters.

★★★★★ OLHUVELI HULANGU FARU

A five-minute boat ride to the east take us to the neighboring local island Olhuvelifsuhi. The shallows are covered in sand which is why we also call this dive site “the milky sand reef”.

★★★★★ OLHUVELI MEDHU FARU

Olhuveli Medhu Faru is located 5 minutes to the east of Le Meridien Maldives. The reef structure is very unique. It starts from 2 meters and connects into separate reefs and small thilas all the way down to 30 meters. It is spread very wide and gives endless possibilities how to dive the area.

★★★☆☆ HALAAKU THARI THILA

Halaaku Thari Thila lies a 10-minute ride to the north. The name translates into “broken star thila” and this is exactly what the topography looks like. Overall, the dive site offers a beautiful underwater landscape including an almost vertical wall with lots of healthy hard corals around.

★★★★★ THIN SEHLI THILA

The dive at Thin Sehli starts fairly shallow at around 5 meters then gradually drops down to 25 meters on all sides. The dive site features some really nice coral blocks and is home to several cleaning stations where cleaning wrasses are waiting for larger fish to come by to get “cleaned”.

★★★★★ GAA VEHTUNU THILA

Gaa Vehtunu Thila translates into “fallen stone” reef. The fallen stone actually describes a reef structure west of the main reef consists of a big mushroom coral block at 19 meters depth. The main thila has a small top reef at 5 meters from where it drops gradually to about 20 meters.

★★★★★ BOAVA THILA

A 10-minute boat ride to the north and we arrive at Boava Thila. Located north of Le Meridien and in the inside atoll, the dive site is suitable for beginners and experienced divers alike. The reef features large patches with beautiful black coral .

★★★★★ TALABO THILA

About a 15-minute boat ride to the north west of Le Meridien we find the small Talabo Thila. Talabo is Divehi for “bald person” because of the lack of beautiful corals. The dive starts at about 5 meters and then drops down to a sandy bottom at around 20 – 25 meters where we can often find rare porcupine stingrays

★★★★★ SALLEYDHOO THILA

Salleydhoo Thila is another lovely dive site located about a 15-minute boat ride to the north of Le Meridien Maldives. Salleydhoo Thila has a very interesting topography. The southern part of the dive site doesn’t have the usual round-ish shape, but we find two tongues here that reach a depth of 20 – 22 meters.
