Sunken Dreams Scuba Diving Academy, established in 2006, is built on a deep passion for the underwater world and a commitment to sharing its beauty with others. With an extensive history of inspiring and educating divers, the academy has supported countless individuals and families on their journey into recreational, professional, and specialist pathways across the marine industries. Our approach blends years of experience with modern, forward-thinking training methods to create confident, capable divers with a lasting connection to the ocean.
At the heart of Sunken Dreams is a strong duty of care for every diver who trains with us. Safety, personal attention, and professionalism guide everything we do. As an SSI Dive Academy, as well as a recognised Freediving, Explorer, and Blue Oceans centre, we offer a diverse range of training pathways—including professional-level recreational scuba programmes and supporting divers in taking on the challenge of becoming Master Scuba Divers. From beginner programmes to advanced certifications and specialist youth programmes, our team prioritises comfort, confidence, and competence, while fostering a strong community where divers can establish long-term training goals and continue their journey with us over time.
We focus on offering innovative courses, unique events, and bespoke group expeditions that extend far beyond traditional training. Our expeditions span worldwide destinations, giving divers the opportunity to explore some of the most remarkable underwater environments on the planet. Each experience is carefully designed to be engaging, memorable, and tailored to support individual goals—whether for adventure, skill development, or professional progression.
We are equally committed to protecting the marine environments we explore. Sunken Dreams promotes responsible diving practices, environmental awareness, and conservation-led education, including offering a full range of SSI ecology programmes. By encouraging divers to understand and respect marine ecosystems, we aim to develop not only skilled divers, but informed ambassadors who actively contribute to the preservation of our oceans.
Excellent shore dive that can provide a variety of experiences; most people dive on / near Slack water (HW-4 or HW+3, times impacted by Tide) and can also be a drift dive on either flood or ebb tides; suitable for night diving - use Surface Marker Buoy at all times due to Lifeboat / Fishing boat traffic.
Shallow site suited to Snorkelling and Freediving as well as Scuba; max depth likely to be about 5m at HW when Ebb current will be quite strong. Good point for starting Drift dive along beach to the Lifeboat Station. Be aware of boat traffic around the wooden Ramp - always use a Surface Marker Buoy.
Wraysbury is a great dive site for any diver, but particularly novices and divers needing a convenient refresher dive. With a maximum depth of 14m Wraysbury has a huge number of various sized wrecks, including the fuselage of a 737 plane, a bus, thorpe park rangers, boats, cars, and even a VW camper van.
