You cannot penetrate or touch the wreck as it is a grave site but this doesn’t take away from this amazing dive. Can have very strong currents. Mares, Janez Kranjc Skillion Cave (★3.7) The Skillion Cave is a fantastic shore dive. . The cave is not really a cave as such but rather a very large crevice in a reef wall that a large boulder has fallen into to form a “cave“. This dive can only be attempted on a calm day which makes it an all to rare treat from shore unfortunately DIVE NEAR ME PTY LTD, 2500 Wollongong 3rd Gutter (★3.7) A great dive site for all levels of experience. With a depth between 18 and 22 meters and a lot of area covered with vegetation, you can always find some interesting animals. SCUBA WORLD, 4557 Mooloolaba HMAS Brisbane (Wreck) (★4.1) The HMAS Brisbane was scuttled in July 2005 to create an artificial reef off Mooloolaba’s Sunshine Coast. The Queensland government created a Conservation Park around the wreck. This wreck is buzzing with beautiful marine life. MERIMBULA DIVERS LODGE, 2548 MERIMBULA Merimbula Wharf (★4.0) Easy Entry - Giant stride or fall in. Max depth 16m. Site is on the southern side of the headland and faces south, best with no swell or larger swells and wind coming from the north. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic North Solitary Islands (★4.2) Boat dive- Distance from Wooli: Only 7 nautical miles away (approximately a 20-minute boat ride).Depth Range: Diving sites here vary from 10 to 42 meters. Diverse Reef Fish: North Solitary Island boasts the highest diversity of reef fish among all the islands. DIVE NEAR ME PTY LTD, 2500 Wollongong Blue Devil Cave (★3.8) The site is one of the best shore dives on the NSW south coast. With at least 3 Blue Devil Fish living in and around a small cave. At max depth of 22 meters & a short swim out to the cave you have plenty of time to take in the marine life on your way out & back. Entry point is at The Gutter. Aqualung Rottnest Island (★4.0) Throughout this dive, you will see caves and bomi walls. There can be currents in some areas so be aware. BYRON BAY DIVE CENTRE, 2481 BYRON BAY Julian Rocks - Hugos Trench (★4.2) Macro heaven! With sheer walls on either side of you, expect to come across a range of small and wonderful creatures such as nudibranchs, Spanish dancers, crayfish and mantis shrimp. BYRON BAY DIVE CENTRE, 2481 BYRON BAY Julian Rocks - Split Bommie (★4.1) Large scattered bombies with a unique crevice, this site is suitable for most diving levels and reaches up to 15m depth. This site provides great diving year-round with plenty of critters both large and small. BYRON BAY DIVE CENTRE, 2481 BYRON BAY Julian Rocks - Cod Hole (★4.2) An amazing dive site for the experienced diver! The Cod Hole is a small underwater cave located on the northern tip and opens up at approximately 15m deep, then slopes downwards to a depth of 21m. SOUTH WEST ROCKS DIVE CENTRE, 2431 SOUTH WEST ROCKS Fish Rock Cave (★4.4) Fish Rock Cave is the only true ocean cave dive in Australia, running 125 meters right through Fish Rock. Fish Rock is in the path of the EAC (East Australian Current) which usually floods the site with warm clear water, bringing a huge variety of temperate and tropical marine species. FEET FIRST DIVE PTY LTD, 2315 NELSON BAY Broughton Island The Looking Glass (★4.2) Part of the Great Lakes Marine Park, is a sanctuary for endangered grey nurse sharks. Dive between the “crack“ in the island for incredible topography in an unforgettable dive site. Aqualung Terrigal Haven (★3.5) You can start your dive from either the boat ramp or the second ramp on the Terrigal Dive side of the Haven. The area underneath the moored boats is sand flats and seagrass. The seagrass in the Haven is a much-overlooked habitat with some of the most interesting critters. BYRON BAY DIVE CENTRE, 2481 BYRON BAY Julian Rocks - Needles (★4.3) The Needles is located on the southern end of Julian Rocks and consists of large bombies extending up to shallow depths. Currents and the shallow depths of 5-15m here mean there is plenty to see all year round. DIVING FRONTIERS, 6021 BALCATTA Crystal Palace, Rottnest Island (★4.1) This dive site is located 850m southwest of Dyer Island. There are caves and swim-throughs all over the site. The maximum depth is 18m. Remember to bring your torch when diving this dive site. DIVING FRONTIERS, 6021 BALCATTA Opera House (★3.9) Situated about 5km northeast of Rottnest Island, this reef is a mild slope that goes from 23m to 31m. The Opera House is a rock inside the large cave system. Keith D. (#2415073) Heron Island (★4.3) Heron Island is a coral cay located near the Tropic of Capricorn in the southern Great Barrier Reef, 80 kilometres north-east of Gladstone Park, Queensland, Australia, and 460 km north-north-west of the state capital Brisbane ADRENO BRISBANE, 4102 WOOLLOONGABBA Cherubs Cave (★4.5) A small concrete cherub once marked the main entrance to this hidden cave off Moreton Island. While the guardian has since disappeared, this underwater world remains to be discovered by the adventurous diver. Mares, Janez Kranjc Hendersons Rock (★4.1) Cherubs Cave is named after a cave system located under a large circular shaped bommie on the north-west side of the main bommie. The cave has four entrances that are difficult to find as they are covered with kelp. Once in the cave, light penetrates through the other entrances, aiding navigation. Aqualung Flat Rock - Turtle Cave (★4.1) Located on the northern side of flat rock, this site is suitable for all levels of divers with a small cave sitting at 10m and the reef dropping to a max depth of 30m. Turtle cave is a great site for drift diving around the edges of Flat Rock and seeing large pelagic life that frequents the coastline. MANTA LODGE AND SCUBA CENTRE, 4183 POINT LOOKOUT Flat Rock - Shark Alley (★4.2) A deeper site for advanced divers, Shark Alley is a seasonal aggregation zone for endangered Grey Nurse (sand tiger) sharks. Being further out to sea, it is also a great place to see whales and other large pelagic marine life. Max depth is 28m with the reef rising to 12m on either side of the alley. Mares Flat Rock - Nursery (★4.3) Flat rock is located approximately 2.5 nautical miles north of point lookout. The Nursery is an amazing dive site located on the southwestern corner of the reef at Flat Rock. BYRON BAY DIVE CENTRE, 2481 BYRON BAY Julian Rocks - Nursery (★4.3) The perfect site for new divers, old divers, and snorkelers alike, with a protected shallow haven of 5-12m, this area is a very popular dive site. Anita H. (#2439381) Exmouth Navy Pier (★4.6) The Navy Pier is situated just 15 minutes outside Exmouth. It only can be accessed by granted company’s from the Australian Military as this is a base. ID must be shown before hand and fee payed to enter. DIVING FRONTIERS, 6021 BALCATTA Nurses Quarters (★4.3) Located 1km west of Rottnest Island, the Nurses Quarters dive site includes the famous “Shark Cave.“ From the reef, the main cave drops to 26m of water and usually hosts a group of grey nurse sharks. Only trained divers with the appropriate certification should enter the cave. SSI AUSTRALIA, 4207 YATALA Bushrangers Bay (★4.1) Stop at the most Western car park. This will give access to a viewing platform of Bushrangers Bay. There a a timber staircase that leads down to the entry point. It is a rocky beach so footwear is highly recommended. Great spot for snorkelers and day visitors. No take marine protected area. Mares, Janez Kranjc Nurse Rock (★3.9) Imagine a mini grand canyon, two large rocks rest side by side, with a split between the two. There are lots of bait fish between the two rocks. At the base of the rock you will find two tight swim throughs (tunnels). Dive Newcastle, 2281 SWANSEA Flagstaff (★3.8) Two entry options for the site - through bay or over rocks (easiest on high tide). Sandy bottom site. Shallow dive. Explore the rocks at the bay entrance or go for a swim outside the bay for more rocky structures. DIVE NEAR ME PTY LTD, 2500 Wollongong The Gutter (★3.9) The Gutter is an entry point to one of the best dives at Bass Point. Jumping off the rocks into 4 meters of water and swimming north you hitting a 10 meter rock. From here you can venture out to many spots or just hang out in The Gutter itself. Visibility between 15 and 35 metres.
