Gorgona Island is an island which lies around 35 kilometres off of the Pacific coast of Colombia. This island used to be a prison island, but now it has been turned into an ecotourism hub. This is an incredibly popular diving destination and rightfully so. The best Months to Dive in Gorgona Island
The climate at Gorgona Island is a tropical one, resulting in warm air and water temperatures year round. The air temperatures range between 22°C and 28°C. The water temperatures range between 26°C and 29°C. The visibility here ranges between 10 and 30 metres, with an average of over 20 metres.
There is an exciting collection of marine species here which are around seasonally; Whale Sharks from July to September, Giant Manta Rays from May to July and Humpback Whales from July to November.
