You’ll see lots of schooling fish and some sharks. This is only accessible by boat dive. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Hale O Honu (★4.6) Hale O Honu is Hawaiian for “House of Turtle” and for good reason. You’ll see lots of turtles here! This is a great, easy boat dive fun for beginners and advanced divers alike. MARCO M. (#3118868) Koko Craters (★4.2) A short 10-minute boat ride just outside of Kai Boat Marina sits Oahu’s Koko Crater dive site. Topside views of Koko Head mountain from this side are unforgettable. A great dive spot for beginners. Mares Sheraton Caverns (★4.6) Don’t forget your camera on this dive! Not only is the underwater scenery spectacular, but chances for whale and dolphin sightings on the boat ride out is also high. Sheraton Caverns is located just off Poipu Beach and is relatively untroubled by harsh ocean swells. Joanie H. (#3091588) Nautilus Reef (★4.3) A unique reef made from an ancient lava field, Nautilus Reef is an easy boat dive just offshore from Ala Moana Beach on the island of Oahu. The northwest side, closer to shore, is shallower and then drops off to about 100 feet on the south side. Joshua J. (#1836373) Maui (★4.2) The island of Maui offers excellent diving opportunities, mostly on the north and western side of the island where the water is calmer. Maui’s neighbors, Lanai and Molokai also offer pristine, excellent diving. Mares, Janez Kranjc Horseshoe Reef - Hawaii (★4.4) Horseshoe Reef is one of the most popular dive sites in the Hawaiian islands. Located just off the south coast of Oahu this area usually has a lot of boat traffic and is, therefore, best done as a boat dive. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Secrets Reef (★4.4) Secrets Reef is a boat accessible dive site off of Kaka’Ako Waterfront park in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is a fun and easy dive with a max depth of about 50 feet. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Turtle Pinnacle (★4.4) Turtle Pinnacle is located just offshore on the northern part of the Kona side of the Big Island of Hawaii and is one of the best dive sites in all of the Hawaiian islands for its turtle cleaning station. Here, surgeonfish clean the turtles attracting lots of other marine life as well. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Airport Beach (★4.1) Off the coast of Ka’anapali, Airport Beach is located right next to the Westin Resort Villas and is great intro and beginner shore diving. An easy 2-minute walk from the parking lot makes getting to this site a breeze. The actual dive is along a gently sloping sandy bottom going from 8 to 25 feet deep. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Hanauma Bay (★4.4) Hanauma Bay is the most popular nature preserve in Oahu and a great place not only to stay the day at the beach but for snorkelers, beginning divers, and experienced divers alike. This bay is teeming with life and no boats are allowed so the waters are calm and protected. Aqualung Mala Wharf (★4.7) Mala Wharf is one of Maui’s best dives and easy to get to! It’s a shore dive just off of Lahaina. Watch out for boat traffic and rough sea conditions. Mares, Janez Kranjc Ulua Beach Park (★3.9) Ulua Beach is a well-groomed family beach, perfect for beginning snorkelers and divers. This beach as lots of parking, easy access and great amenities like freshwater, showers, and restrooms. An easy shore dive. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Kahekili Beach Park (★4.4) A massive coral reef stretches out for miles and farther out, coral islands wait to be explored.This beautiful, easy dive site is popular with all levels, with a highly customizable dive experience and depths ranging from 20 - 80ft.Best Dive Seasons: Year round. Joe M. (#2992121) Sea Tiger (Wreck) (★4.6) The Sea Tiger is one of the most popular wreck dives on Oahu and is the closest wreck to scuba dive from Waikiki Beach, taking only 10 minutes by boat to get there. Mares Puako (★4.4) This is a favorite dive site of locals due to its easy beach entry and the fact that it’s not a popular place among tourists. Get here early as the winds start to pick up around 11 am, making the water rougher and visibility not as good. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Wailea (★4.3) A great spot for intro dives as the water is calm. This dive site has multiple fingered shallow reefs with depths averaging around 15 feet. If you continue out father to the outer reef you can dive to 40 feet and beyond. Mares, Janez Kranjc Black Rock - Hawaii (★4.4) Right off the beach of the Black Rock Sheraton Resort sits one of the best turtle dives on the island of Maui. You are guaranteed to see at least 5-10 green sea turtles on this dive. Max depth is only around 35 feet. Mares Ewa Pinnacles Reef (★4.1) Ewa Pinnacles is a beautiful dive spot on the Hawaiian island of Oahu set amongst beautiful lava formations and huge overhangs with lots of coral. This is a great cleaning station so there are lots of reef activities to see. Mares Kewalo Pipe (★4.2) Boat and ocean sports traffic in this area is high so for safety reasons it’s best to do this dive from a boat and not from shore. This old waterline pipe is an iconic dive that looks desolate at first glance but has lots of little critters living in and along it. Ranata W. (#4302472) Makena Landing (★4.2) Makena Landing offers divers access to one of the best and most unique dive sites on the island of Maui. This area is home to numerous ledges and grottos, and actually encompasses a few different individual dive sites known as 5 caves/5 graves, turtle town, and turtle arch. Aqualung Turtle Canyon (★4.3) Turtle Canyon reef is one of the most popular dive sites on the island of Oahu due to the sheer number of sea turtles here. This reef is a turtle cleaning station and is fairly shallow, making it also a great snorkel site. Stacy M. (#3997477) Koloa Landing (★4.3) Koloa Landing is located in Hanaka’ape Bay, Kauai and is a very popular dive site, especially for scuba instruction. The entry is easy, and there is plenty to see to the left and right of the landing. Scubapro Turtle Town Maui (★4.3) This is one of the best spots on Maui to see sea turtles. Just off Makena Beach off the southwest coast of Maui, this site offers a shallow dive perfect for beginners and also snorkelers. This is a turtle cleaning station so activity is high. Scubapro Fish Bowl - Hawaii (★4.3) This dive site has amazing rock structure, giving lots of hiding places for fish to hideout, making Fish Bowl one of Kauai’s fishiest dives, hence the name. You’ll also see evidence of old lava flows here.
