Explore Hervey Bay
Hervey Bay is a coastal city in southern Queensland and one of the best places in Australia to watch migrating humpback whales. Located between Hervey Bay and Fraser Island is the Great Sandy Marine Park, where several impressive wreck dives are found. Aside from the incredible opportunity to swim alongside whales; wobbegong shark, giant grouper, and sea turtle can also be encountered.
Hervey Bay diving is possible from the few dive centres known to the area, where dive courses from Discover Scuba to the Advanced Open Water are offered. A short flight from Hervey Bay will find divers at Lady Elliot Island, witnessing large populations of manta rays at the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef.
