Kori is a rock that is seen out of the water, in the middle of the bay. From there starts a reef that goes max about 11 meters. Is a nice easy dive for all, recommended for the very beginners.All levels. Max Depth 11 meters. Duration 45-55 min. Access boat or long swim.

Messerschmitt Me 109 (Wreck) (★4.5)

This Messerschmitt BF109 aircraft is a wreck from WWII. It is in good condition with only the tail missing from the site. The aircraft was most likely shot down during the battle of Crete in May-June 1941.

At the end of the bay of Hersonissos there is a wall type reef we call St. George, named after the church near by. The dive site is about 300 meters long and we split it in 2 parts. Shallow and Deeper. Shallow part starts from 6 meters depth and goes down to 12-13 meters. Deeper part is from 12 to 19 meters.

You can find pieces of various amphorae here. Amphora is an ancient container with a certain characteristic shape and size, from as least as early the Neolithic Period. Amphorae were used in vast numbers for the transport and storage of various products, both liquid and dry, but mostly for wine.

Five minutes east of Ierapetra, just off the crystal clear shores of Numo hotel, is a shallow reef and then a slightly deeper reaching 11 meters. The massive colorful rocks surrounded by golden sands, various fish and Neptune grass are well protected from the north and rarely encounter wavy weather.

The best Months to dive in Lasithi

Diving in Lasithi, located in Crete, offers year-round opportunities due to its favorable Mediterranean climate. During summer, water temperatures range from 23°C–26°C/73°F–79°F, providing comfortable conditions for divers. In winter, temperatures drop to around 16°C–18°C/61°F–64°F, still allowing for pleasant diving experiences with appropriate wetsuits.

Visibility in Lasithi is typically excellent, often exceeding 30 meters/98 feet, ensuring stunning underwater views. While diving is possible throughout the year, the best conditions are from May to October. During this period, the sea is calmer and the winds less frequent. The winter months, particularly January and February, might present challenges with stronger winds and cooler water temperatures, but experienced divers can still explore the vibrant marine life.
