High concentration of fish on the current side. Lots of schooling fishes, Tunas and big stuff such as sharks and rays. Beautiful cracks and holes with all kind of surprises. Mares Kuda Faru (★4.5) Finger Point also known as Kuda faru, the divesite is located in the channel of Makunudhoo, a few kilometers northwest of the island that shares the same name. The northern reef of the channel presents an interesting outgrowth, which looks like a pinnacle (Thila), has a top reef at 12m and is connected to the main reef. DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Beriyan Dhekunu Thila (★4.4) Regardless of whether Thila or the nearby main reef BDT is the best Marco place, which does not mean that there are no big fish;) However, there are occasional “funny currents“ which are no problem with a guide who knows his way around! DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Koroshigiri Canyon (★4.4) This great dive site is characterized by a wonderful underwater landscape in the south. The top reef starts at about 3m and drops to about 10m.Then the wall is criss-crossed with beautiful overhangs that can be dived to a depth of 30m. Upstream a small Thila that comes from 33 to 18m, Nitrox and deep specialty! DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Rainbow Caves (★4.3) An approximately 600m long drift dive in a frenzy of colors that is dived in different levels. however, it is also a place where things really get down to business every now and then! The current drive you in 6 minutes; ) from beginning to end. Therefore flow specialty recommended! DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Aarah Bodu Thila (★4.4) Smaller thila that is easy to circle around when simple current conditions prevail. The reef top starts at 7m with small blocks. To the east and north, it does not drop so steeply to 25m. In the west and south a little steeper up to 35m. In the south-west are beautiful small. Overhangs. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Rannalhi Caves (★4.5) Drop off located at the corner and at the outside reef with a lot of small and very big overhangs form 5 meters to 20 meters. Whip corals inside the channel and many anemones. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Rannalhi Kuda Giri (★4.6) Small Giri with beautiful coral blocks on the west side. This giri is covered with fields of anemones and different types of anemone fish. Easy dive. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Vale Giri (★4.7) Mid sized Giri with lots of beautiful soft corals on the south and east side. Various sandy areas with blocks and nice table corals. Ideal place for snorkelers too. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Faana Thila (★4.6) This is a small inside reef, with a drop off on the west side and lots of overhangs. A torch is recommended. This site is full of hard corals on the top reef and is one of the best sites known for its coral. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Point Thila (★4.5) This is a small reef situated inside the atoll with a drop-off on the west side. The reef is full of holes and overhangs, with sponges and black corals. A torch and camera are highly recommended. SUN SIYAM DIVING OLHUVELI, 2005 South Male Atoll Lhosfushi Kuda Kandu (★4.3) Kuda Kandu means small channel and is located north of Guraidhoo channel, it has a very shallow sandy bottom at 12 meters deep and 10 meters wide. It offers colonies of stony and soft corals which give good hide away spots to blue stripe yellow snappers. SUN SIYAM DIVING OLHUVELI, 2005 South Male Atoll Napoleon Reef (★4.2) This dive site is named Napoleon Reef for good reason. This site is covered in large Napoleon wrasses. This is a good drift dive for all levels of diver. Many times divers have also encountered whale sharks and mobula rays here as well. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Vaagali Thila (★4.4) Small thila in the Vaageli channel. You can dive around it within one hour. The thila has many blocks and nice terraces. The top of the thila is at 10 meters. Scubapro British Loyalty (Wreck) (★4.2) This 5583 ton British oil tanker actually sunk twice! Once it got recovered and repaired and after getting torpedoed the second time, it got removed and was finally towed to its final position and sunk by British gunfire on the 5th January 1946 in Addu Atoll. Mares Kuda Kandu Corner (★4.4) One of our best! Channel dive site located on the corner of Kuda Kandu. Only one small patch of rubble interrupts massive coral formations of table, mushroom, brain, cone and many other corals along a steep slope to 25m. Scubapro Muda Kan (★4.5) It does not get better! Located in Maakandu channel. Best to be dived on incoming current (sometimes very strong!) starting on the eastern corner of the channel. Once inside, the reef features a year-round manta point in between 19-25m. Of course, not guaranteed but up to 30 animals have been seen here. SSI Service Center Maldives, 200015 Male Kuda Giri Wreck (★4.4) This wreck site requires a short swim from the nearby reef “Giri“ to reach it. This well-preserved wreck sunk in 1994 and is teaming with marine life. Maldives Passions, 08090 Maafushi Gulhi Outside (★4.4) In the local language (Dhivehi), Miyaru means “shark“ and Faru means “reef“. Shark’s reef it is then, so it’s not too hard to guess what you can expect here!! White tip sharks galore, grey reef sharks aplenty, a few nurse sharks, less common leopard sharks too and even rare tiger sharks & whale sharks sightings! Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Boduhiti Thila (★4.4) Bodu Hithi Thila is a two slightly separated seamounts in the famous Bodu Hithi Channel. Seasonally it is one of the top Manta Spots in North Male Atoll. DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Labyrinth (★4.7) You should have some experience for this TOP dive site! The reef top starts at 15m! and is a block about 80x70m around it are large blocks full of fish and soft corals. There is a nice little canyon and small breakthroughs! NITROX and DEEP Specialty desirable !! DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Kottefaru Thila (★4.5) Great thila with many small overhangs that often serve as shelter for rays, nurse sharks and turtles. Soft corals and extremely many anemones !! Due to its location in a canal, a current must always be expected. We, therefore, recommend having experience with currents or a * special * dive. DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Maafaru Caves (★4.5) Wonderful drift dive in a frenzy of colors. This reef is like an open subway tunnel cut on the side. Soft corals in many different colors hang everywhere in the tunnel. In the middle of the canal, there are coral blocks with a good chance of gray reef shark (when there’s current). The perfect place for a current specialty! DivePoint Hudhuran Fushi, 20193 Male Old Virgin (★4.6) This wall is for all kind of divers, easy and protected but nice. The reef falls from 5 to 25m and we have to look in the small overhangs.In the right month (May to Aug) often mantas passing in the blue. A spot also good for a night dive and a good chance to get surprised. Mares, Janez Kranjc Medu Thila (★4.3) A medium sized thila as its name says (medu = medium) on the east edge of the atoll. It presents some big overhangs where we can spend lots of time from our dive. On the east side there is an extra thila connected by a saddle from the main thila. They offer great marine life with all the common reef fish. Scubapro Kottefaru Anemone Thila (★4.6) This fantastic pinnacle gets its name from a blanket of anemones covering the top of the reef. There are 2 large overhangs on opposite sides of the thila full of interesting corals and glass fish. Dive Mission Joy, K. kasanfaru Lagoon Trixy Caves (★4.3) This reef is located inside the channel at the northeast of North Male Atoll and offers some interesting overhangs and some swim-throughs for those who enjoy putting their buoyancy skills to use. Mares Kari Beyru Thila (★4.1) A thila situated in a channel 40 minutes from Kandolhu - a dive site not to be missed due to its variety of fish life. It was declared as national park in 1998. We have different ways to dive this dive site hence suitable with all kinds of currents, even strong current. Mares, Janez Kranjc Bodu Beru (★4.2) since 2025-09-28, under construction, under construction, under construction, under construction, under construction, under construction, under construction, under construction, under construction, Aqualung Golden Wall (★4.1) A deep wall dive, starting on a top reef with many hard corals, descending over the edge and down a shear wall, covered in yellow, soft corals to eventual deep overhangs / caverns at its base, around 30m depth. Ltd.), Shaviyani Atoll Sirru Fen Fushi House Reef (★4.8) A 5-minute boat ride to the east and we arrive at Sirru Faru Irumathi better know as Sirru Fen Fushi’s House Reef! located on the west side of Sirru Fen Fushi’s private Lagoon Resort, this long drift along the slope is suitable for beginner divers as well as divers who don’t enjoy long boat rides. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Lara Giri (★4.4) This dive site is located on east side of dive point rannalhi, boat navigation time is 40min. Its a very small round giri, you can swim around in one hour. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Amingiri Sandbank Reef (★4.8) What seems to be a rather “unspectacular” sandbank reveals itself as a very pretty dive site. Having said that, sandbanks are never really unspectacular in the Maldives but you wouldn’t expect a very pretty wall ranging from 3 to 30 meters when looking at the pristine white sand on top of the reef. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Anemone Thila (★4.9) The dive site is of round shape and can be defined as a classical Maldivian thila – a submerged pinnacle. The top reef is located at 4 meters which makes it easy to descent to for all experience levels. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Mas Giri (★4.8) Located a 10-minute boat ride north-east of Hilton Maldives Amingiri, Mas Giri is one of our must-see dive sites if you like beautiful marine life. Pretty much all tropical reef fish that are home in the Maldives can be found on Mas Giri. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Neygey Thila (★4.7) Located just north of Amingiri. This dive site lies in the protection of a faru in between two channels. This makes the dive sites less exposed to strong currents and therewith suitable for all experience levels. The reef structure is a thila from 4 to 30 meters. Mares, Janez Kranjc Coral Garden (★4.5) A small Giri with an abundance of corals, reef life and names, eg. Floral Garden, Teabag-Giri or Aquarium. The top of the reef starts at 1m at low tide and extends down to 20m+ on certain parts of the seamount. Most of the days you will be able to go around the whole circular reef as the currents are small. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Ram Faru Thulu (★4.5) Two Thilas inside the atoll with many nice overhangs at the north and south east corner between 10 and 20 meters. Many coral blocks and sponges. Torch recommended Mares, Janez Kranjc Neru Faru - Hilton Maldives Amingiri Housereef (★4.6) A beautiful hard coral reef right in front of Hilton Maldives Amingri welcomes divers of all levels at depth from 2 to 25 meters. Located in a channel the dive changes its character depending on the prevailing current direction and strength... Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Underwater Habitat by Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives (★4.8) Underwater Habitat created by Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives is a unique project under the lead of our Resident Marine Biologist Mohamed Abaan better know as “Bunny“ . Scubapro Kuda Badhi Caves (★4.3) Located along a stand alone reef. There are several overhangs towards the East side of the reef that can be explored quite easily. Start the dive up current from the caves and put up the DSMB towards the end of the dive. Dive Mission Joy, 08080 K. kasanfaru Lagoon Asdhoo Wreck (★4.5) Asdhoo Wreck is a small steel vessel located on a Giri South of Asdhoo Island. Reachable with a 30 minutes boat ride, The Wreck lies in the Sand with a maximum depth of 22 meters. The upper part of the wreck is going up to 10 meters. The reef behind the Wreck turns into a wall in direction north. Mares Hohola Thila (★4.4) Hohola Thila is a small Thila with an amazing rich underwater life. This small and extremely colorful spot can be surrounded in one dive. Suitable for divers of all level - from beginners to advanced. The top reef lies by around 6 meters, and it falls to 30+ meters to a sandy bottom. Aqualung Madivaru Beyru (★4.6) Next to the famous Madivaru Corner you can enjoy this 40m deep vertical wall full of coral and life. Good for any diver level. Strong current, can be found in this dive spot Dive Mission Joy, K. kasanfaru Lagoon Reethi Thila (★4.3) “The beautiful” is located inside of the atoll, north– east of Asdhdoo Island. A 15 meters boat ride from Joy Island away. The top reef is 3 meters deep and the walls on the side falling down to 30 meters. It is a small Thila, which can be circumnavigated in an hour. DivePoint Guraidhoo, 08080 Guraidhoo Guraidhoo Lagoon (★4.5) Five minutes off the town of Guraidhoo with a sandy shore entry. Usually well protected by a wave breaker. Maximum depth in the area is 10m. Good for confined water exercises and navigation practice, but also for exploring the reef. Sunken little shipwreck nearby, nice spot for snorkellers. ←12
