Beautiful long reef with arches and overhangs on the shallow part of the reef 14m above. Some area are a bit more gentle slope and some areas are a steep slope. Peter S. (#417559) Angaga Thila (★4.4) Underwater seamount- called Thila in Maldives, top reef at 7-10 meters. Negative decent needed away from the reef if there is current. High concentration of fish on the current side. Lots of schooling fishes, Tunas and big stuff such as sharks and rays. Beautiful cracks and holes with all kind of surprises. Mares Kuda Faru (★4.5) Finger Point also known as Kuda faru, the divesite is located in the channel of Makunudhoo, a few kilometers northwest of the island that shares the same name. The northern reef of the channel presents an interesting outgrowth, which looks like a pinnacle (Thila), has a top reef at 12m and is connected to the main reef. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Vavathi Kurolhi / Christmas Tree (★4.5) This dive site is one of the best and most precious thilas / pinnacles in Noonu atoll. It gets its name from the fact that the pinnacles of the reef are stacked to resemble a christmas tree. Mares, Janez Kranjc Snow White (★4.1) The reef is gently sloping downwards to a sandy bottom at a depth of 18 meters, which makes it easy for beginners to make their first open water dives and divers conducting their check dive. Mares, Janez Kranjc Dhigu Faru (★4.3) A long reef extends from northwest to southeast, starting at around 6 meters deep and sloping down to 24 meters before transitioning to a sandy bottom. Mares Than'buru Canyon (★4.5) The swim through experience 40 min by boat. Max Depth:30m / Average depth: 17m. Canyons and swim through for all levels of divers, it doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or an experienced diver. The reef drops down to 30 meters and is full of small crevices and openings. Aqualung Orimas Thila (★4.6) Orimas Thila is a deep thila dive site with the top of the thila at approx. 20m and is known as shark point due to the sharks that hang around in this area. If the current is strong you may need to hook into or hold onto the rocks to stay up current with the fish life. DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Sola Corner (★4.7) From November / December to the beginning of May one of the best manta spots in the Maldives! Also suitable for beginners! But not only mantas are sighted here. Lots of pelagic delicacies can be discovered with a bit of luck. Can have a stronger current, but easy to dive. DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Nagili Thila (★4.4) Great drift dive over several large blocks and small thilas. Due to distances of 80m and currents more demanding and for experienced divers or divers willing to learn. Nice overhangs and arches in the deeper area, Deep / Nitrox has the best combination. Depending on the current, you can go diving on the house reef DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Rainbow Caves (★4.3) An approximately 600m long drift dive in a frenzy of colors that is dived in different levels. however, it is also a place where things really get down to business every now and then! The current drive you in 6 minutes; ) from beginning to end. Therefore flow specialty recommended! DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Aarah Bodu Thila (★4.4) Smaller thila that is easy to circle around when simple current conditions prevail. The reef top starts at 7m with small blocks. To the east and north, it does not drop so steeply to 25m. In the west and south a little steeper up to 35m. In the south-west are beautiful small. Overhangs. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Rannalhi Caves (★4.5) Drop off located at the corner and at the outside reef with a lot of small and very big overhangs form 5 meters to 20 meters. Whip corals inside the channel and many anemones. Mares, Janez Kranjc Toshi Caves (★4.4) Kudey Kandu is known for its unique dive site, featuring the Toshi Caves, which can be described as a rounded and expansive corner. Despite the strong currents in the area, this dive offers an easy channel experience. The reef drops steeply from the surface to a depth of 30 meters, and the varied shapes and sizes. Mares, Janez Kranjc Hirundhoo (★4.4) Hirundhoo is a reef site starting at 5 meters and dropping down to 35 meters. The dive features a wall section with overhangs and varied reef structure, allowing flexible depth profiles suitable for different experience levels. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll alimas faru (★4.6) Easy dive along the inside reef and around a thila. If the current allows it, it is also very nice to dive the small thila on the north west side. DivePoint Hudhuran Fushi, 20193 Male Himmafushi Faru (★4.3) Himmafushi Corner offers a wonderful drift dive on an easy slope from 5 to 30m. Here there is a drop-off and you can see big life with a bit of luck. DivePoint Hudhuran Fushi, 20193 Male West Rock (Wreck) (★4.5) West Rock is home to a small wreck that is easy to dive, which lies upright in a small bay at a depth of about 26m. Parts of the hold can be explored. The superstructure and the mast come down to 10m. Mares Kuda Kandu Corner (★4.4) One of our best! Channel dive site located on the corner of Kuda Kandu. Only one small patch of rubble interrupts massive coral formations of table, mushroom, brain, cone and many other corals along a steep slope to 25m. Aqualung Maakandu Outside (★4.4) Located in the NE. Outside reef. Easy wall dive not usually affected by strong currents. Top reef starts at 5-8m and slopes gradually to 30+m. On the wall and in the corner gorgeous and healthy coral gardens that make eyes tear with joy. Maldives Passions, 08090 Maafushi Gulhi Outside (★4.4) In the local language (Dhivehi), Miyaru means “shark“ and Faru means “reef“. Shark’s reef it is then, so it’s not too hard to guess what you can expect here!! White tip sharks galore, grey reef sharks aplenty, a few nurse sharks, less common leopard sharks too and even rare tiger sharks & whale sharks sightings! Mares, Janez Kranjc Turtle Reef (★4.3) Turtle Reef is a beautiful part of the outside reef on the east side of the atoll, famous for it turtle encounters. The reeftop stretches down to approximately 7 meters on the edge - after that the deep blue awaits you... Maldives Passions, 08090 Maafushi Embudu Channel (★4.3) This is a marine protected area because of the population of grey reef and white tip sharks it supports. The dive starts on the south side of the channel and then sinks down to the edge of the last “step” around 30m. Mares, Janez Kranjc Madivaru Beyru (★4.6) Starting the dive at 6 m on the top reef, you’ll find a lot of interesting coral formations. It is a large sandy bay, starting at 16 m and dropping down towards the reef where resting sharks and stingrays like to stay. DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Maafaru Caves (★4.5) Wonderful drift dive in a frenzy of colors. This reef is like an open subway tunnel cut on the side. Soft corals in many different colors hang everywhere in the tunnel. In the middle of the canal, there are coral blocks with a good chance of gray reef shark (when there’s current). The perfect place for a current specialty! DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Kudathulhaadhoo Thila (★4.5) 300m long and 80m wide, this site is a must-dive reef. On the west side, the reef falls slowly from 14 to 18m, then steeply to 30m. In front, there is a large block starting at 28m. With a little bit of luck, you will see nurse sharks here. The southwest side is crisscrossed with beautiful colorful overhangs. Current!! Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Stingray City (★4.4) Stingray City is quite misleading for a place where Nurse Shark dominate - Several separate coral block in depth from 15 to 3 are located in a small lagoon close to Embudu Channel. Fasdheythere Dive Club, 06030 Kendhoo Blue Hole (★4.4) The Maldives has several unique “blue holes“ or chimney-like formations popular for diving and snorkeling, with one notable example being the Amilla Blue Hole on the house reef of Amilla Fushi in Baa Atoll. DivePoint Hudhuran Fushi, 20193 Male Old Virgin (★4.6) This wall is for all kind of divers, easy and protected but nice. The reef falls from 5 to 25m and we have to look in the small overhangs.In the right month (May to Aug) often mantas passing in the blue. A spot also good for a night dive and a good chance to get surprised. Sub Oceanic (Ventures Pvt. Ltd.), Shaviyani Atoll Maroshi Thila (★4.9) This dive site in the north of the Maldives is a pinnacle starting at 16m with overhangs and canyons. Here you will enjoy great fish life and lots of colorful soft corals. Mares Kari Beyru Thila (★4.1) A thila situated in a channel 40 minutes from Kandolhu - a dive site not to be missed due to its variety of fish life. It was declared as national park in 1998. We have different ways to dive this dive site hence suitable with all kinds of currents, even strong current. The sloping reef is between 5 and 15m guarded and offers many small fish a home. On the huge sandy area at 20m we also find stingrays. DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Digufaru Thila (★4.7) This is a small thila 80m long and 70m wide in the middle of a channel which promises a lot of currents. Due to the current, this dive site should be dived by experienced divers only, or those who are willing to learn! Smart diving in the current’s shade required or the right place to be shown by an experienced instructor. The Barefoot Diving Center, Hanimaadhoo Baarah Caves (★4.0) Deep sheer wall to 25-30m from a top reef at around 7m. Deep caverns, overhangs, ledges and small caves at around 16m where white tips and nurse sharks can be seen along with rays resting. Macro life to be found in the deep caverns and along the wall / inside the small overhangs and openings. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Fihalhohi Kandu (★4.5) At the outside reef of Fihalohi, a gentle slope goes down to 20 meters. In the sandy bottom there are stone corals and, within it, shelter loads of glassfish and cleaning shrimps. Sub Oceanic (Ventures Pvt. Ltd.), Shaviyani Atoll Sirru Fen Fushi Hulanghu Faru - Manta Point (★4.7) This prime dive site is located to the northwest of Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi and has everything a diver can dream of. We reach this top dive spot after a 15 minute boat ride. Sub Oceanic (Ventures Pvt. Ltd.), Shaviyani Atoll Sirru Fen Fushi House Reef (★4.8) A 5-minute boat ride to the east and we arrive at Sirru Faru Irumathi better know as Sirru Fen Fushi’s House Reef! located on the west side of Sirru Fen Fushi’s private Lagoon Resort, this long drift along the slope is suitable for beginner divers as well as divers who don’t enjoy long boat rides. Sub Oceanic (Ventures Pvt. Ltd.), Shaviyani Atoll Fahi Thila (★4.8) Located in the inside of the atoll, currents tend to be minor. With the maximum depth being 20 meters, it is the perfect spot for all experience levels. The dive site is known for its amazing hard coral life, both on the thila and the main reef. DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Aarah Kuda Thila (★4.5) A small reef with many different types of colorful coral. The reef roof is at a height of 6m and has a diameter of approx. 20m, at a depth of 25m it should be approx. 50m. On the west side an overhang with soft corals, further deeper a gap with giant moray eels and cleaner shrimp. Sub Oceanic @ Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi, Shaviyani Atoll Maroshi Irumathi (★4.7) A nice and easy site 30 minutes south of Sirru Fen Fushi Private Lagoon Resort. Located on the east of the local island Maroshi, this dive site is usually done as a drift dive. The dive site features a very shallow top reef and a slope reaching to about 25 meters deep. DivePoint Meedhupparu, 960 Meedhupparu Kudathulhaadhoo Caves (★4.3) Drift dive along Kudathulhaadhoo Island. Large overhang with soft corals in the west, caves in the middle, and a small bay and the tip in the east is full of fish Sub Oceanic @ Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi, Shaviyani Atoll Miyaru Thila (★4.5) Miyaru Thila is an excellent dive site about 45 minutes south of Sirru Fen Fushi Private Lagoon Resort. It is an underwater mount (thila) with the reef top starting at about 10 meters, going down to 30 meters on all sides. You can find beautiful overhangs all over the thila at various depths. DivePoint You & ME, 200015 Male Uthuru Maafaru North Corner (★4.8) Located north of You&Me Resort at a distance of 20min by boat. Top reef lays at 10mt with a gentle slope dropping to 30mt. On the corner there are a couple of cleaning stations where, from December till April, is possible to encounter Manta Rays. DivePoint You & ME, 200015 Male Thiling Faru (★4.9) We can reach Thilin Faru in 20min by boat. Top reef lays at 10mt with a coral slope to 15mt and then to 30mt. On the corner a sandy area surrounded by coral blocks with a Manta cleaning station. Mares Fulidhoo Caves (★4.6) The back reef of Fulidhoo extends over roughly 4km from west to east. The central part features a sloping reef with magnificent table corals on the top and wide overhangs from a depth of 15m to beyond 30m. The area between the caves and top reef is full of marine life. DivePoint You & ME, 200015 Male Miyaru Giri (★4.5) Located South of You&Me Resort, close to Kadholhudhoo Island in the Channel. Distance by boat is 45min ride. It’s an underwater pinnacle where the top of the Giri starts from 6 to 7m dropping down to 30m. On the southern side of the Giri there are a couple of big coral blocks, where big encounters are possible. DivePoint You & ME, 200015 Male Reethi Thila (★4.5) North East side of You&Me Resort, close to Fuggiri Island in the channel. Distance: 35min by boat. The top of thila is 6 to 7m deep dropping down to 30m on the channel side and 20m in the more inner part. Beautiful overhangs can hide stingrays and nursesharks. ←123→
