To preserve the delicate eco system of the lake and the diminishing (non stinging) golden jellyfish and moon jellyfish there is only snorkeling allowed here. Very interesting ecosystem with non-stinging jelly fish that follow the sun around in the lake.

Mecherchar, part of Palau's Rock Islands, offers excellent diving conditions year-round. Water temperatures range from 27°C–30°C/81°F–86°F, providing comfortable dives in all seasons. The visibility is typically around 20 to 30 meters/65 to 98 feet, allowing divers to fully appreciate the vibrant marine life.

The best time for diving is during the dry season from November to April, when winds are minimal and conditions are calm. However, diving is still possible in the rainy season, from May to October, although visibility might decrease slightly due to increased rainfall and stronger currents.
