This spot owes its name to the pillar that Captain Don named after a friend as a wedding gift. The divesite looks very much like Andre I and Andrea II.

Captain Don’s Reef (K) (★4.5)

This reef is named after Don Steward, one of the diving pioneers on Bonaire. It is a beautiful reef with all kinds of small plateaus if you dive down the rig for a long time.

Chromis Reef (middle) (★4.5)

A shallow site perfect for beginner divers and snorkelers ranging from 20-50 feet/6-15m. The rock formations closer to shore create beautiful overhangs for fish and lobsters to hide in, and the gentle sloping reef offers divers the opportunity to spot schooling tarpon, creole wrasse and an abundance of reef fish.

Sara’s Smile (★4.3)

Sara’s Smile is the house reef of Belmar Private Oceanfront Apartments, so if you dive from the shore you need permission. A nice reef and after the dive you will certainly emerge with a “smile“.

Chub Hole (★4.5)

Southeast of the pin, the miniwall features a maze of tunnels, canyons, and archways. Northward, the reef opens with large overhangs and towering coral fingers.

This is located at the resort of the same name. Right between Front Porche (31) and Harbour Village. So you can let the dive flow into one of the other 2 spots.

Santa Rosa Wall (★4.6)

Almost exactly in front of the Occidental Cozumel hotel, this wall offers divers breath-taking views of the abyss under the steep pdrop off as well as many pass-throughs between the deep blue and the safety of a relatively shallow shelf. A few adjacent shallower coral balls offer a suitable spot for a safety stop.

Playa Frans (★4.6)

Playa Frans is a fishing beach with some houses. A beautiful sloping reef with lots of life and also fun for snorkeling due to the large shallow areas.

L’âne rouge (★4.7)

This dive site is close to Colombier Beach and Colombier wall. Shallow water to start, then you will discover a pinnacle full of life between 20m and 10m deep.

Alligator Reef (★4.3)

NW and SE of Cheeca Rocks, Alligator Reef Sanctuary Preservation Area (SPA) bridges the shallow reefs of the Upper Keys and the deeper reefs of the Middle Keys. This rectangular SPA is a small bank reef protecting a spur-and-groove system, reef crest, and a portion of the northeast rubble ridge.

This is the house reef of the resort of the same name here on Bonaire. It is a beautiful sandy plateau before the wall starts at 15m. Very nice facilities for divers.

La Poza, Xcalak (★4.7)

An very nice underwater trench that makes for a beautiful wall dive. Current can sometimes convert it into drift diving. The depth ranges from 5 m/15 ft to 26m/90ft. It is full of alcoves where fish hide and tower-like structures of coral at the end of the dive.

ARM Santos Wreck (★4.2)

Auk Class Minesweeper with World War History in the Pacific theater. Decommission after the war and recommissioned briefly for the Korea War. Sold to the Mexican Navy in 1973. Sunk as an artificial reef in March 2022. 220ft in length, resting partially upright at 55ft on the sand. Top at 20ft below surface (12/20)

Le tombant de colombier (★4.6)

Wonderful wall with a lot of plants, corals, sponges, and fishes! It’s possible to see tarpons, stingrays, turtles and lobsters. Sometimes there is a little courant on this site, so perfect to discover the drift dive!

Located at the “Witch’s Hut“. Good parking and easy entry from a stone path and across a sandy beach. Well sheltered. Great macro site. Lots of sponges.

Located in Hamlet Oasis south of Dive Friends Hamlet shop. Marked with a pin. Can be entered from Cliff dive site (Hamlet Dive Friends) or From La Machaca dive site (Captain Don’s).

Turtle City (★4.8)

When you drive from Sorobon to the east coast, on the left side there is a deserted shrimp fishing house. When the fence stops, drive in on a sandy road. At the end you can park the car and walk towards the entrance, which is a shallow bay at the shoreline.

Cuatro piedras, Catalina Islands (★4.2)

The dive site is ideal for beginners as in between the rocks is a shallow sandy patch. Currents however can sometimes make it difficult to stay in the sand patch. Around the southern end are a lot of channels and it might be difficult to find your way around. Depths are anywhere between 7- 28 meters.
