(#108569) Andrea II (22) (★4.3) An easily accessible shore dive location with areas of shade and parking not far from the entry point. This is a large dive site so it never feels crowded here. Aqualung Andrea I (23) (★4.3) Just down the beach from its sister site, the Andrea II, the Andrea I is most well known for its beautiful coral formations from the plate coral that call this reef home. Easily accessible from shore, this is a shallow reef dive and great for snorkeling and beginning divers. Scubapro Joanne’s Sunchi (J) (★4.4) Joanne’s Sunchi (or Joanne’s Kiss) is a beautiful dive site with a deep dropoff. Along this dropoff where a lot of coral grows, there are sand ridges that extend to depth. SSI Service Center Southern Caribbean, Willemstad Playa Daaibooi (★4.7) A great shore dive accessible from a quiet, calm beach out of the way of most of the tourist action. There are plenty of parking spaces, lots of shade, and benches to set up your gear on. Although a bit of a swim, the reef is healthy a beautiful. SSI Service Center Southern Caribbean, Willemstad Klein Curaçao (★4.4) Klein Curaçao is 11 km/7 miles to the east of Curaçao which means a long boat ride and diving is often done during a day trip or in combination with a dive at East Point. Diving is possible all around the island but usually restricted to the north-east and south-west parts due to weather conditions. Scubaçao, Willemstad Playa Jeremi (★4.4) Playa Jeremi is a small beach sandwiched between two mighty cliffs. The cove is a sandy plateau which slowly changes into a beautiful coral garden. Divers should swim out until just before the blue line. The reef is a slope that you can follow in a northerly or southerly direction. SSI Service Center Southern Caribbean, Willemstad Watamula (★4.6) The best dive site on the west side of Curaçao, only accessible by boat. At both sides of the gorgeous hard coral reef are two sandy patches filled with large soft corals. The massive hard coral reef starts at 5m / 15ft and gently drops to 20 m/70 ft where it becomes a sandy bottom. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Rocher du Diamant (★4.7) Le Rocher : The mythical dive in Martinique !!! Double dive to enjoy the enchanting setting of the rock! The dive is done at the foot of the rock, the water is clear and blue, the walls are covered with all the colors of the rainbow !!! Mares Davis Reef (★4.3) Davis Reef is one of the nicest reefs in this area. It’s known for an abundance of large green moray eels and a multitude of tropical fish. A great spot for night dives, new divers, and snorkelers. Also of special interest is the Buddha statue that was placed here years ago. Sarah S. (#4020708) Molasses Reef (★4.3) Molasses Reef is one of the most popular dive areas in the Florida Keys. There are 30-33 specific dive sites located on Molasses Reef alone. The reef is shallow and very clear with lots of life, making it a great area for divers of all levels and snorkelers as well. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic La Baleine (★4.5) The visibility of its crystal clear waters, the richness of its biodiversity and its diversified relief make the Cape of the Whale one of the most beautiful sites of the South Caribbean. A nice drop off slides down to 25m. Cape of the Whale is favourable for drifting, starting in particular from Three Airs Cove. SSI Service Center Southern Caribbean, Willemstad Playa Kalki / Alice in Wonderland (★4.4) Playa Kalki with the dive site “Alice in Wonderland“ is the most north-western dive site which is possible from shore. A beautiful reef runs parallel to the beach with large coral formations. The best diving depth is between 5-20m.Parking, restaurant, toilets and diving school are on site. Ben A. (#3536434) North Point - San Pedro (★4.5) North Point is located on the northern tip of San Pedro and is a fantastic dive site for beginners and advanced divers. Due to its location at the tip, the site is exposed to currents at times and offers pelagic species. Neil D. (#3039000) Frederiksted Pier (★4.5) One of the top macro dives anywhere! Scattered ruins and columns are coral encrusted and provide habitat for many types of shallow sea life. The pier is 1526ft/465m long so lots to discover with a gradual westerly decline. Perfect for snorkeling & non-certified divers too. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Christmas Tree Cave (★4.3) Christmas Tree Cave is a fun swim through located in the French Reef Sanctuary Protected Area. It’s named Christmas Tree Cave for the large Star Coral Formation on the top. Sandra S. (#3809867) Playa del Carmen (★4.3) Turtles site nearby Playa del Carmen, Biosphere protected animal sea area. Plenty of doris, emperors, clownfish, lobster, coral reef, seabass, pufferfish. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Kohanee (★4.4) The last section of reef before the Atlantic, this site has a wide depth range of 10 mtrs / 30 ft to over 100 ft / 30 mtrs in places although fairly narrow across the top. Due to proximity, it is arguably the “best“ site in Grenada for life and sponge and coral growth as well as marine life. Mares Turtle Bluffs (★4.1) Just west of the popular dive site General Store, Turtle Bluffs is a turtle cleaning station so be ready to see lots of green sea turtles and reef fish. This site is exposed to open water so there could be some current and this site must be dived from a boat. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Hale O Honu (★4.6) Hale O Honu is Hawaiian for “House of Turtle” and for good reason. You’ll see lots of turtles here! This is a great, easy boat dive fun for beginners and advanced divers alike. MARCO M. (#3118868) Koko Craters (★4.2) A short 10-minute boat ride just outside of Kai Boat Marina sits Oahu’s Koko Crater dive site. Topside views of Koko Head mountain from this side are unforgettable. A great dive spot for beginners. Mares Sheraton Caverns (★4.6) Don’t forget your camera on this dive! Not only is the underwater scenery spectacular, but chances for whale and dolphin sightings on the boat ride out is also high. Sheraton Caverns is located just off Poipu Beach and is relatively untroubled by harsh ocean swells. Mares Davey Crocker Reef (★4.5) An amazing, shallow reef dive great for snorkelers and newer divers. Davey Crocker Reef has one of the highest populations of fish life in this area. Schools of fish, nurse sharks, eels and turtles. This is a must dive. Nerea M. (#4242665) Monkey Head (★4.2) Monkey head is a 15 minute boat ride from Playas del Coco. The dive site is part of a pinnacle that above water represents a monkey head, hence its name. Under water it is one of our favourite dive sites. SSI Service Center Southern Caribbean, Willemstad Cornelius Bay (★4.4) Very nice dive to the left of the Sea Aquarium. Can be hard to reach, however, with a bit of a climb. When entering from shore watch out for the shallow elkhorn coral formations. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Cozumel (★4.5) Cozumel is one of the most popular dive destinations in the world and caters to divers with many diver-specific hotels year-round. Sitting just off Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, Cozumel boasts crystal clear, warm waters every day of the year and is home to a wide array of marine life. Aqualung Palancar Caves (★4.7) Palancar Caves is usually done as a multi-level drift dive, starting out fairly deep, usually hitting the recreational limit, to explore the deeper reef which is full of underwater tunnels and caves to swim through. Then you’ll make your way up the reef to the more shallow area to end your dive. Aqualung Stetson Bank, Flower Gardens (★4.4) Stetson Bank, located at the westernmost end of the sanctuary, is an oblong, mid-shelf bank made of uplifted siltstone and claystone. It was added to the sanctuary when Congress reauthorized the National Marine Sanctuaries Act in 1996. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Paradise Reef - Cozumel (★4.5) One of the most popular dive sites in Cozumel, Paradise Reef is actually three separate patch reefs running parallel to shore and is accessible by both shore and boat. This is one of the few good shore-accessible dive sites on the island. Max depth is 45 feet so this is a good site for beginners and snorkelers. OCEAN SPORTS, 00979 CAROLINA Crashboat Wall and Anchor (★4.4) This site is the remnant of an old pier. It is a shallow site, no more than 30-35 feet of depth with a sandy bottom. The wreckage on the bottom provides an artificial reef for a large variety of marine life. Visibility ranges between 10 feet (if it has been raining) to over 50 or 60 feet. SSI Service Center Southern Caribbean, Willemstad Tugboat (★4.2) Tugboat is Curacao’s most famous dive and snorkel spot due to its shallow depth. It was wrecked just off the shore of Caracasbaai and sits in only 15 feet of water. The tugboat is crawling with marine life and is now covered in sponges and coral growth. Scubaçao, Willemstad Marie Pampoen (★4.2) A calm, easy shore dive where you enter the water from a small harbor. 20-30 meters out from the harbor you will find an interesting artificial reef made from dumped cars, cranes, and more scraps. Sometimes large tarpon hang around here. Channel Islands Scuba, 91360 Thousand Oaks Salt Pier (49) (★4.6) Active pier for loading salt from the salt works on the island of Bonaire. It can only be dived when no ship is moored, and no maintenance is being performed. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Turtle Pinnacle (★4.4) Turtle Pinnacle is located just offshore on the northern part of the Kona side of the Big Island of Hawaii and is one of the best dive sites in all of the Hawaiian islands for its turtle cleaning station. Here, surgeonfish clean the turtles attracting lots of other marine life as well. PPK PLONGEE GUADELOUPE, 97125 BOUILLANTE Pointe Lézarde (★4.3) Last dive site of the National Park towards the south of Bouillante. This site consists of a rocky ridge, which will allow you to navigate between small rocky peaks and also down to 40 m. Most of the diving is done between 15 and 25 meters for beauty and visibility. Aqualung Cedar Pass (★4.5) Paseo del Cedral is a favorite Cozumel site among photographers due to the landscape that is covered in tight little coves and crevices for schools of fish to hide. This is a shallow dive with a max depth of 60 feet and great for beginning divers. Swiss Divers Association, 39390 Acapulco El Corsario (★4.4) “El Corsario”, a sunken shipwreck from 1940, is an ideal spot for divers of all levels, from beginners to experts. The wreckage, where an artificial reef has now formed, lies scattered at depths of approximately 6m/18ft to 17m/51fts. Aqualung La Jolla Shores (★4.0) La Jolla Shores is the most popular dive site in San Diego county. Accessible from Kellogg Park, “The Shores“ is an easy beach entry unless the surf is high, then only those experienced in high surf entries should dive. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Airport Beach (★4.1) Off the coast of Ka’anapali, Airport Beach is located right next to the Westin Resort Villas and is great intro and beginner shore diving. An easy 2-minute walk from the parking lot makes getting to this site a breeze. The actual dive is along a gently sloping sandy bottom going from 8 to 25 feet deep. Dive with Purpose Cozumel, 77675 Cozumel San Clemente (★4.5) San Clemente is a shallow barrier reef located 500 m (0.3 mi) from the shore at the Sunscape/Secrets resort. The dive site is only 30-40 ft deep in at spans a llenght of over 900 m (0.6 mi). With mild currents, this is a perfect dive site for the last dive of the day or a night dive. Travis M. (#4179003) SS Benwood (Wreck) (★4.4) The Benwood is a 360ft World War II wreck that sank April 9, 1942. She was carrying a cargo of phosphate rock and running blacked out to avoid German U-boats that were rumored to be in the area. The ship Robert C. Tuttle was also running blacked out and the two ships collided. Mares, Janez Kranjc Catedrales (★4.5) This is a popular site just off of Isla Verde in the Veracruz region of Mexico. The water is sub-tropical and home to many colorful fish species. There are lots of interesting rock formations to see and an abundance of fish and coral. This is a boat dive site. Mares, Janez Kranjc La Paz (★4.5) Diving in the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez, just outside of La Paz, Mexico is like swimming in an aquarium. Be ready for spectacular backdrops including swim-throughs, caves, caverns, deep pinnacles, and shallow, colorful reefs. A.C.Divers, 77720 Playa del Carmen Pargo Cave (★4.5) A perfect coral reef for beginners, students of underwater photography and great place for the second shallower dive after a deep one. It has a sculpture, the “Virgen del Carmen“ of a conch shell, more than 2m high underwater to take a keepsake photo of the memory of diving in Playa Del Carmen. Mares, Janez Kranjc The Nursery - Florida (★4.3) The Nursery gets its name from the group of resident nurse sharks that live here. It is an easy boat dive and can turn into a drift dive at times due to the current. DIVEMEX, 77710 Playa del Carmen Jardines (★4.4) A great site for beginning divers and snorkelers as this reef is shallow, clear, and has little to no current. One of the most beautiful dives in Playa del Carmen, Jardines reef offers many small caves and shelters for schools of fish to hide. Lots of reef life here to see. SSI Service Center Southern Caribbean, Willemstad Stella Maris / Ocean Encounters (★4.2) This is a great house reef dive located from the shores of the Lions Dive and Beach Resort. Shore accessible, this site is perfect for newer divers and snorkelers and sits right inside the Curacao National Marine Park. Mares Boca Sami (★3.4) Nice and easy shore dive in St. Michiels Bay with large sponges in the deeper parts of the reef around 30 m / 100 ft. The large buoy in the bay is attached to a massive anchor chain which is a perfect reference point for your way back. Scubaçao, Willemstad Jan Thiel baai (★4.0) This bay is located at a busy beach so feel free to bring the family! Entering the water is easy and under water you will find a wreck and a platform, lots of sandy bottom up to a depth of 15m. Scubaçao, Willemstad Playa Lagun (★4.5) Located on the northwest end of Curacao, Playa Lagun is a narrow cove surrounded by rocky cliffs and is an excellent shore dive site. It is known as one of the best snorkel spots on the island with a variety of Marine life. For divers it offers multiple routes on the outer reef and inner reef. Scubaçao, Willemstad Playa Grandi / Playa Piscado (★4.4) Playa Piskado, also called Playa Grandi, is a crowd puller. Turtles can be found on the top of the reef and near the small pier, where they get the leftovers of the fishermen to eat. The beautiful reef is further out and at 8 meters depth you can find a statue of the sea god Neptune. 12...5→
