    Diving in Tabuk Region

    Tabuk Region, located along Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast, offers exceptional diving experiences with its rich marine biodiversity and numerous dive sites. One of the standout wreck dives is the "Georgios G" shipwreck near the city of Haql, which provides divers with an intriguing glimpse into the past amidst vibrant coral gardens and diverse marine life.

    Popular shore dives include the pristine coral reefs of Sharma Beach, known for its clear waters and abundance of colorful fish.     The site was called lava (Harrah) due to the presence of ancient fossilized lava formed as black rocks on the beach. and there is also places not reached by the lava. Soft sand beaches which suitable for swimming and beginner divers. the beach reaches 10M depth over 400 meter distance.

    Woodhouse Reef (★4.4)

    Fun drift dive from the boat, Woodhouse is the longest of the 4 main reefs in the Straits of Tiran. Currents can be strong. There is a split in the middle of the reef and care needs to be taken towards the end of the reef where a washing machine effect can sometimes be present. The reef is fabulously colorful!

    One of the best dive sites in the world. Can be done as a drift or mooring dive. Wonderful coral garden with soft and hard corals. Sometimes challenging currents on the “corners“. Backside of the reef known for hammerhead sharks in July to October.

    Kormoran/Zingara. in 1984 the ship that ran ground on the north side of laguna reef. in tiran strait in 10-12 meters underwater. the wreck is completely broken. Only accessible in very good weather.

    The best Months to Dive in Tabuk Region

    The Tabuk Region offers diverse diving conditions throughout the year, making it a favorable destination for divers. Water temperatures range from 22°C–29°C/72°F–84°F, with the warmest months typically from June to September. Visibility is usually excellent, often exceeding 30 meters/98 feet, providing clear views of the underwater landscape.

    Diving is possible year-round, but the best conditions are generally found in spring and autumn, when winds and currents are mild. During winter, cooler temperatures and stronger winds can reduce visibility and create challenging conditions. Summer months can also bring higher water temperatures and increased currents. Nevertheless, divers can enjoy the rich marine life and vibrant coral reefs during most parts of the year with proper preparation.

    Top Wildlife Sightings in Tabuk Region

    The Tabuk Region, located along the Red Sea's coastline, offers a vibrant marine ecosystem teeming with life. Divers can expect to encounter a variety of reef fish such as clownfish, angelfish, and butterflyfish. These species are commonly seen year-round, providing a colorful spectacle in the coral gardens.

    Seasonal highlights include sightings of larger marine animals. Between April and June, divers might spot green sea turtles, which frequent the area for nesting. Additionally, reef sharks, including the occasionally spotted blacktip reef sharks, are more prevalent in the cooler months from November to February. Rays, particularly the blue-spotted stingray, are a common sight throughout the year, gliding gracefully over sandy patches.
