A 20-minute drive from the port is a large 3-10 m plateau that continues to sink deeper and deeper, with steps at 20 and 40 meters, eventually reaching a maximum depth of 58 meters. Abundant flora and fauna, as well as pelagic species, are not uncommon.
Wildlife sightings include dentex, barracuda, sars, lobster, moray eels, conger eels, salpas, sepias, squid, octopus, groupers, tuna and amberjack.
