Deriving its name from the vast number of huge houseboats (floating hotels) that anchor around this island, Hotel Island is a favorite Lake Ouachita dive site. You can always expect to find knick-knacks that have found their way overboard from the flotilla.
Due to the heavy boat traffic and divers/snorkelers in this area, marine life is a bit scarce. However, if you are still and patient the fish will come to you.
