Kassandra Shipwreck

At a depth of 20 meters, nestled beside the vertical walls of Platourada Island, lies the wreck of the Kassandra. This cement-laden ship sank in 1973 and now serves as an artificial reef, offering shelter to an abundance of marine life.

The vibrant, colorful walls adjacent to the shipwreck are equally captivating and not to be missed, making this site a true underwater treasure for divers.

You can find pieces of various amphorae here. Amphora is an ancient container with a certain characteristic shape and size, from as least as early the Neolithic Period. Amphorae were used in vast numbers for the transport and storage of various products, both liquid and dry, but mostly for wine.
