Shore access to shallow water on lac d’argile (Clay Lake). Clay bottom, easy access from shore. But close to municipal boat ramp. Not a recognized dive site, but some divers have come here to remove Eurasia Watermill weeds

Weeds, bass, catfish and assorted small fish. Some invasive Eurasian Watermill weeds. Bottom is clay and stirs up easily.

Scubapro

Cascades (★4.0)

This dive site is in the old Canal Soulange (no longer in use). It has an interesting location near Parc des Ancres (where you will find many old ship anchors). The site is shallow with very calm water. As such, it is easy to silt it up so take caution.

Lock 20 (★4.2)

In 1958 the St-Lawrence seaway was created. The depth of the seaway was increased to allow larger ships to travel to the Great Lakes. As such many villages, road ways, locks, power houses, canals were submerged and can be seen by divers.

Parc Sous Marin Saint-Zotique (★3.4)

The St-Zotique underwater park boasts four wrecks: the Fédéral 11, The Teddy W, The Anne-Marie G, and the Fédéral 4. There are multiple anchors all linked together with cables so divers do not get lost.

Pointe aux Cascades (★3.5)

This site is located near Parc des Ancres. A lot of parking available. There is also a large covered area suitable for completing log books. This site is used extensively for training. The water here is shallow with a maximum depth of 7 meters. The area is protected by mounts on three sides and the water is calm.

Carriere Kahnawake (★4.2)

This is the only local dive site in the Montreal area that allows you to reach 100 feet deep. This freshwater quarry is open Tuesday evenings and during the day over the weekends. There is a $20 cash only access fee to be paid upon arrival.

Morrison’s Quarry (★4.2)

Morrison’s Quarry, located off of Highway 105 in Wakefield, Quebec, is one of the region’s most popular scuba training sites. It is also a very popular camp ground and home to concerts and festivals during the summer months.

A great quarry dive with excellent visibility. Watch your depth, however, as you can get quite deep pretty fast. This quarry offers two parking lots and an easy shore entry.

Lac Morgan (★3.6)

From the wharf, you have a surface or underwater swim of about 400m in order to reach a cliff of about 30m deep. Bring a light as it gets dark quickly in this lake. Also, pay attention to where you are swimming and look ahead as there are lots of downed trees laying around in the lake.
