Lake Whatcom has many entries and is a great place to get wet. The bottom only gets stirred up if you kick it up. Some areas remain shallow, while others can get really deep.

Freshwater clams, cray fish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, trout, golf balls, and dog toys. The best find has been a jar of pickled pigs feet.
