OPITO BAY

★★★★☆ (48)

Just 20 mins by car or 30 mins in a boat, Opito bay is well known as a scallop bed although it has just been shut down for the next 2 years due to poor bed condition.

The life on this sea bed is amazing for just a sandy bottom being home to octopus, many different types of sea slugs, gurnards flounder, and more.
