You will try Deep Diving and Navigation as well as 3 other specialty areas before deciding on a full specialty training. It's a great way to experience what Advanced Open Water Diver training is all about and how valuable it can be for your diving adventures. If you want to make the most of your bottom time and have more fun on your dives, try underwater scooter or diver propulsion vehicle (DPV) diving. In this underwater scooter and DPV course, you will learn the skills and concepts you need to safely plan and conduct dives using scooters or DPVs. You will learn the special precautions needed for using DPVs, how to maintain buddy contact and how to control your equipment, so you can safely enjoy the new dive experiences DPVs provide. Upon completion of this program, you will earn the SSI DPV Diving specialty certification and be able to dive up to 30 meters deep with a scooter or DPV.

SSI, the world’s largest training organization for professional divers, has expanded the student training materials for Ecology and most Recreational Specialty Diving Kits to include the option of an online final exam. With this new upgrade, instructors can now conduct the Enriched Air Nitrox 32 program entirely online, as additional practical applications are no longer required. The two required practical applications—tank analysis and review questions—are now only necessary for the complete Enriched Air Nitrox 40 program. The change to the standards for the Enriched Air Nitrox 32 program was made because this certification is primarily intended for divers who want to use EAN 32 solely for added safety but continue to use the air setting on their dive computer. To upgrade from Enriched Air Nitrox 32 to Enriched Air Nitrox 40, the following steps are required:Complete the remaining lessons in Theory Lesson 4 and the Practical Applications: Cylinder Analysis and Calibration Review Questions, as described in the Enriched Air Nitrox Instructor ManualPass the Enriched Air Nitrox 40 Final Exam (written) with a score of at least 80% or the online final exam with a score of 100%.
