If you're having trouble deciding which specialty programs are the best choice for you, join SSI's Advanced Open Water Diver program! This program allows you to try a variety of specialties before enrolling in full specialty programs. It's an excellent opportunity to experience what advanced dive training is all about and discover how valuable it can be in your underwater adventures. During the Advanced Open Water Diver program you will try 5 different specialties. For each specialty you choose, you'll do a full briefing with your SSI Instructor and then conduct an open water training dive. In this specialty-focused tryout program you will have total freedom to explore. This specialty, which is required for completion of most SSI Professional programs as well as some Extended Range programs, is an excellent opportunity to expand your diving knowledge. React Right is SSI's first aid and emergency course: it gives you the training and knowledge you need to act as a first responder in a medical emergency. This dive program is totally flexible, so you can choose the topics that interest you, such as primary care, first aid, CPR and primary stabilization techniques. You can also learn the basics of automatic external defibrillation (AED) and oxygen administration in emergency diving situations. This program, which combines academic sessions and hands-on training scenarios, gives you the tools and confidence you need to perform correctly. When you earn your certification, you'll be able to respond and administer first aid, CPR and oxygen and offer assistance with an AED in the event of a medical emergency. The SSI Explorers program allows children ages six and up to dive underwater and explore the aquatic world around them in a variety of ways. They will gain a solid foundation in ocean conservation and have the opportunity to experience four major aquatic adventures: snorkeling, scuba diving, freediving and swimming. Participants in SSI's Explorers program can also expand their dive knowledge as they advance their underwater experience with specialized courses such as marine mammal ecology, underwater photography and twenty other options. In addition to the whole family having a great time, children who are not yet old enough to dive will learn important skills for their day-to-day lives. These underwater adventures will help young divers gain maturity, self-esteem and a sense of responsibility. SSI's Scuba Diver program combines online learning with confined and open water dives, so you'll have the basic knowledge you need to dive safely and confidently. You'll learn everything you need to know to dive in open water to a depth of 12 meters with an SSI professional. You only need to complete the remaining academic and confined water sessions, plus two open water training dives. This program was designed for those who do not have time to take the Open Water Diver program, but wish to dive in open water; with this program you will complete almost half of the Open Water Diver program training and can easily upgrade your certification. The Investment includes enrollment in the program, access to online academic material, supply of equipment and scuba tanks, training with an accredited instructor, issuance of international certification, access to the pool for practice. As a Nitrox Diver, you'll be able to increase your bottom times and safety margins and reduce surface intervals, so you can spend more time diving and less time waiting. In this program you will learn new skills and increase your dive knowledge. In addition, you will learn how to plan and safely dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen. Upon completion, you will earn your SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification. With the SSI Deep Diving Specialty, you'll learn everything you need to dive from 18 to 40 meters through a combination of academic sessions and open water dives. You'll learn how to plan and complete deep dives safely and how to use computers and gas consumption calculations to get the most out of your deep dives. Upon completion, you'll earn your SSI Deep Diving specialty certification and be able to explore deep dive sites wherever you go. This SSI specialty is a prerequisite for some of the advanced dive programs, making it the recommended next step in your dive training.
