If you're not sure which specialty to choose, choose the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver program! You'll learn about deep diving and navigation, plus a choice of three other specialties, before committing to a full course. It's the ideal way to familiarize yourself with advanced diver training and its importance for your underwater adventures. During the Advanced Open Water Diver program, you'll explore five different specialties by doing a training dive in the open water for each specialty, after a full briefing with your SSI instructor. This program gives you total freedom of exploration. You'll be able to take full specialty courses at a later date, and use your Advanced Open Water Diver training to gain access to them.

As a Nitrox diver, you can increase your dive times and safety margins, and shorten your surface intervals - so you can spend more time diving and less time waiting! In this program, you'll learn new skills and increase your diving knowledge while learning to plan and dive safely with enriched air mixtures containing up to 40% oxygen. On completion of this program, you will be awarded SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification.

The SSI Deep Diving Specialty will teach you everything you need to dive to depths between 18 and 40 meters, through a mix of theory sessions and open water dives. You'll learn how to safely plan and execute your deep diving adventures, and how to use computers and gas consumption calculations to get the most out of your deep dives. On completion of this course, you'll receive your Deep Diving SSI Specialty certification and be able to explore beautiful deep dive sites wherever you choose. This SSI Specialty is also a prerequisite for certain additional training courses, making it the next logical step in your diver training.

The SSI Decompression Diving Specialty will teach you to dive beyond the no-decompression limits. You'll learn how to plan and execute dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters with limited decompression, using your recreational diving equipment and a decompression cylinder. You'll learn how to use your dive computer's functions effectively, including gas change, reserve and surface times. Using these computer functions will become second nature, allowing you to safely perform limited decompression dives without having to spend hours planning the dive. Upon completion of this course, you'll earn Decompression Diving SSI certification and be able to explore beautiful deep sites or large wrecks without being restricted by no-decompression limits. Join the Science of Diving SSI specialty and you'll develop a comprehensive understanding of the underwater world and its effects on the human body. This specialty is required training for most SSI Professional programs, as well as for some Extended Range programs, and is an essential way of broadening your diving knowledge. Available online, you can earn your Science of Diving SSI specialty certification from home and get ready to start your career as a Diving Professional. Once you've completed the course, you'll be halfway to achieving the coveted Divemaster SSI qualification and earn the Science of Diving SSI specialty certification.

Mixing gases correctly is essential for safe breathing underwater. The SSI Gas Blender program teaches you the skills and concepts needed to safely mix helium-based nitrox and trimix gases. Most of the best dive sites in the sea are wrecks. These structures attract unusually high densities of marine life and give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in history. The Advanced Wreck Diving SSI specialty will enable you to become a safe and confident wreck diver. The Diver Stress and Rescue SSI specialty program teaches you the skills you need to protect yourself and other divers. In this specialty program, you'll develop the advanced skills and knowledge you need to navigate safely and confidently underwater. You'll learn how to use a compass and natural navigation techniques, estimate distance, leave and return to a designated point, as well as basic navigation patterns. You'll also learn how to combine navigation techniques to enhance your diving experience. The Extended Range Foundations SSI program offers all divers the opportunity to take their diving skills to the next level through a series of workshops. Learn more about using tec equipment with any full dive gear you're certified for, and develop your basic skills to master buoyancy, balancing, webbing techniques, positioning and communication. The Extended Range Foundations program offers training that complements existing certifications to increase diver confidence and mastery in the water. All training dives are conducted in a pool or protected environment at depths of less than 12 meters/40 feet. After completing this program, you will be awarded Extended Range Foundations SSI certification.

The SSI Extended Range Trimix training program is the foundation on which all other open circuit programs are built. This program marks the start of an exciting journey towards becoming a fully-fledged technical diver. Whether in sidemount or twin-bottle configuration, this program prepares you to plan and execute trimix decompression dives to a maximum depth of 45 m. You'll learn the techniques and procedures for using trimix and nitrox breathing mixes (up to 100% oxygen) for decompression. At the end of the program, you'll be certified as an SSI Extended Range Trimix diver, and your knowledge of technical diving will be further enhanced.
