SSI's Perfect Buoyancy Specialty is ideal for improving your buoyancy and getting the most out of diving. With the Perfect Buoyancy Specialty, you will learn advanced buoyancy skills and techniques so you can master your buoyancy quickly and enjoy relaxed dives. With SSI's Diver Stress & Rescue specialty program, you'll learn the skills necessary to protect yourself and your fellow divers. Not only will you learn how to identify stress and avoid accidents, but we'll also teach you practical techniques for conducting rescues and providing assistance in emergency situations. By combining practical sessions in the pool and in open water, this program prepares you perfectly and enables you to handle emergency and rescue situations with confidence. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue specialty certification. React Right is SSI's first aid and emergency course: it gives you the training and knowledge you need to act as a first responder in a medical emergency. This dive program is totally flexible, so you can choose the topics that interest you, such as primary care, first aid, CPR and primary stabilization techniques. You can also learn the basics of automatic external defibrillation (AED) and oxygen administration in emergency diving situations. This program, which combines academic sessions and hands-on training scenarios, gives you the tools and confidence you need to perform correctly. When you earn your certification, you'll be able to respond and administer first aid, CPR and oxygen and offer assistance with an AED in the event of a medical emergency. You will learn to use search patterns, specialized dive planning and special equipment such as lift balloons, lines and reels. The Open Water Diver (OWD) course with Divers' Refuge, an internationally recognized certification from Scuba School International (SSI), is ideal to start your adventures as a certified diver. The combination of personalized training and practical in-water sessions ensures that you'll have the skills and experience necessary to dive comfortably. You will earn your SSI Open Water Diver certification. This refresher program for dive professionals will teach and/or refresh the SSI business philosophy, training philosophy, standards and education system to candidates.Crossover programs are available for Divemasters, Assistant Instructors and Dive Instructors.Candidate prerequisites:- Minimum age: 18 years old- Must have an SSI qualification or equivalent from a recognized agency in active status.- Must meet the minimum certification requirements of the program for which you want to Crossover.- A Divemaster Professional Crossover candidate must have completed the Science of Diving course skills and knowledge assessment.- Dive professionals from other agencies must follow the "Return to Active Status" standards.The Crossover process must follow the equivalency charts included in the SSI training standards as set forth by the RSTC. This process is usually "horizontal", meaning that a candidate receives a qualification as high as their previous agency's qualification.The Crossover process:.- The candidate must have or create a MySSI user account with a valid email address and affiliate with an SSI dive center.The dive center registers the candidate in the Crossover for Dive Professionals and prints the Crossover training record - The candidate must procure the Crossover kit according to the level of certification the candidate wishes to obtain. Candidate must upload to their MySSI account all required documentation for professional profile - Current medical history form - Current First Aid, CPR and O2 Administrator certifications - Current Dive Professional Liability Insurance (where applicable) - Candidate attends and completes the appropriate chapters of the Crossover program.

After becoming a Divemaster, the Assistant Instructor rating is the next step in a dive instructor's career path. This program allows you to gain teaching experience, practice briefings and provide in-water and classroom training. If you want to advance your career as a dive professional, you can take the Instructor Training Course, pass the Instructor Evaluation and become an Open Water Diving Instructor. SSI's Scuba Diver program combines online learning with confined and open water dives, so you'll have the basic knowledge you need to dive safely and confidently. You'll learn everything you need to know to dive in open water to a depth of 12 meters with an SSI professional. You only need to complete the remaining academic and confined water sessions, plus two open water training dives. This program was designed for those who do not have time to take the Open Water Diver program, but wish to dive in open water; with this program you will complete almost half of the Open Water Diver program training and can easily upgrade your certification. The SSI Explorers program allows children ages six and up to dive underwater and explore the aquatic world around them in a variety of ways. The SSI Try Scuba program is the best way to dive for the first time. You'll dive in a pool or confined water accompanied by an accredited instructor, who will be by your side at all times so you can enjoy this unforgettable underwater experience and let the magic of scuba diving take you away. When you complete this short program, you will get your SSI Try Scuba recognition card and no doubt, you will be looking forward to diving again. There are plenty of dive experiences waiting for you out there and this program is just what you need to get started. Upon completion of your Try Scuba training and with your recognition card, you will be able to claim a $20 discount on your Open Water Diver course from Refugio de Divers for a period of no more than 3 months after your pool training. The Try Scuba Program is divided into an academic part that you must complete at home and the practice in the pool accompanied by our accredited instructors. It is important that you download the application for iOS or Android "MySSI" and register with SSI, in order to complete the registration process and give you access to the program. By practicing in the pool accompanied by our instructors, you will have enough time to adapt to the underwater environment. Some of the skills you will learn during the program include:- Learning to use SCUBA equipment.- Moving through the water with ease.- Breathing normally underwater.- Controlling your buoyancy so you don't ascend and descend uncontrollably.- The easiest procedures for entering and exiting the water.- Emptying the water from your underwater visor, among others.
