This program provides the knowledge and skills necessary to dive safely and comfortably under a layer of ice. You will learn the special requirements for diving in an overhead environment, the techniques and methods of communication, and the proper use of specialized equipment for ice diving. After completing this program you will receive the SSI Ice Diving Speciality certification. Ice diving Ice diving is a team sport. Together we work on how to get onto the ice and how to access the water. Afterwards we can dive into the depths of Lake Sils, the surface breaks are shortened with the breathtaking view of the snow-covered Engadine mountains. An SSI Scuba Skills Update will get you back in the water and back to your old strength in no time at all. In the refresher course, you repeat and practise the diving skills from your Open Water Diver program under the guidance of an SSI professional. However, a scuba skills update is not only a relaxed way of refreshing your diving skills, but often also a prerequisite for resuming diving training after a break. If you don't want to worry about your skills on your diving vacation and would rather enjoy the underwater world instead, take the course shortly before your trip. The course is also ideal for Open Water Diver students to consolidate their diving skills before open water dives. As a dry suit diver you can dive warm and comfortable in cold waters all year round. Only dry suit diving opens up the special underwater landscapes of cold water to you: dives on the icebergs in the remote Arctic or fascinating places teeming with life despite the cold. Dry suits are also great if you dive several times a day. Instead of struggling to get out of the cold, wet wetsuit each time, the dry suit diver simply leaves his suit on. The best way to dry suit dive is the SSI Dry Suit Diver Specialty course. Here you will gain the necessary knowledge and learn all the skills to dive safely and comfortably in a dry suit. This includes how to use the special equipment and how to deal with difficult situations and problems with the dry suit. At the end of the course you will receive the SSI Dry Suit Diving Specialty certification.

As a deep diver, you have the unique opportunity to explore some of the world's best dive sites and most popular marine life. There is so much waiting for you in the deep blue sea. In a balanced combination of theory sessions and open water dives, the SSI Deep Diving Specialty course will teach you everything you need for dives between 18 and 40 meters. You will learn how to plan and safely conduct your deep diving adventures and how to get the most out of your deep dives with the help of dive computers and gas consumption calculations. Upon completion of the course, you will receive your SSI Deep Diving Specialty certification and be able to explore the most beautiful deep dive sites wherever you want. This SSI Specialty is also a prerequisite for other advanced training courses, making it the next logical step in your diving education.

In the SSI River Diving course (often officially integrated into the SSI Waves, Tides & Currents Specialty or the SSI River Diving program), you’ll learn how to dive safely in flowing waters. The focus is on assessing currents, special orientation techniques, and safety procedures. The experience offers fascinating plays of light, eroded canyons, and the silent glide with the current.
