Karaburun (Izmir) Diving Event

Diving in Karaburun is not just about going underwater; it’s about stepping into the underwater story of one of the Aegean’s most unique landscapes. From the wind-sculpted shores of Mimas to the impressive walls of Büyük Ada, the crevices and crevices, to Domuzburnu’s distinctive wall formations, and into the depths of Aslan Kayası, every dive becomes a new adventure.

In the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean, witness moray eels gliding through the rocks, the silent passage of grouper and sea bream, and the vibrant life created by schools of sargo and black seabream ; octopuses, sea hares, starfish, crustaceans, and other colorful creatures remind us why Karaburun is such a special underwater destination. At some sites, coming across amphora shards and anchors that have survived from the past to the present, and at others, observing the life surrounding shipwrecks that have turned into artificial reefs, allows nature and history to converge beneath the same waters.

SSI Our dives, conducted according to the safe, mindful, and environmentally responsible diving principles that form the foundation of the SSI approach, aim not merely to reach depths; rather, we seek to experience every meter through controlled buoyancy, proper equipment use, effective communication, and respect for underwater life. Karaburun’s serene natural setting, crystal-clear waters, and rich biodiversity provide an ideal environment for this approach, transforming every dive into an enjoyable opportunity to learn, explore, and forge a stronger connection with the Aegean.

If you’re ready, we’ll cast off the boat’s line, leave the surface behind, and dive into a new story in the blue waters of Karaburun.

In the Depths of Karaburun: Wrecks, Reefs, and the Blue That Opens Up to the Night

This season in Karaburun, get ready to explore the Aegean’s most impressive underwater routes: Alaybey and 9 Eylül wrecks, with their hulls bearing traces of the past, have transformed into artificial reefs; while İrem-Mete, Büyük Ada İzmir Burnu, and the majestic Aslan Kaya turn every dive into a unique adventure with their walls, rocky formations, and rich underwater life. In September, in the warm and vibrant waters of the Aegean, we have a high chance of spotting moray eels and octopuses hiding among the rocks, grouper, sea bream, sargo, and black seabream gliding over the reefs, and colorful sea hares; during lucky encounters , amberjack, barracuda, tuna, and lionfish may also join us on our route. The adventure doesn’t end at sunset; with the opportunity for night diving, you can discover a completely different side of Karaburun and witness octopuses—which hide in daylight—as they go out to hunt, as well as the underwater life that comes to life at night. In Karaburun, every descent is more than just a dive; it’s a new discovery of the blue, history, and the wild beauty of the Aegean.
