Liveaboard - OMAN

Liveaboard - OMAN

Best of Daymaniat - Fahal and Bandar KhayranThe liveaboard “MV Oman Explorer,” operated by Extra Divers, has been in service in Oman since 2011 and visits the Sultanate’s beautiful dive sites. The steel vessel can accommodate 22 people.A perfect outdoor area with chairs and a spacious lounge offer you comfort after diving. The lounge area features a TV corner for evening briefings and movies. There’s also a library with fish identification guides and refrigerators stocked with cold drinks. You can also relax on the sun deck. The Oman Explorer features eleven well-equipped cabins. Six of them are located on the lower deck. These cabins have two single beds. The other four twin cabins are located on the upper deck. A master cabin with a double bed is located on the main deck. Each cabin features air conditioning and a private bathroom. On board the MY Oman Explorer, you’ll be served three meals a day in buffet style, along with snacks and fresh fruit. Alcoholic beverages are not served. Water, tea, coffee, and juice are available free of charge in the “refreshment corner.”Diving in Oman is a great alternative to the Red Sea. Divers here enjoy the privilege of usually being alone at the dive sites. The maximum depth of the dive sites varies between 15 and 30 meters, and there are no strong currents. The large number of fish is impressive, as are the numerous schools of fish attracted by the plankton-rich water . Many rare moray eels, leopard sharks, stingrays, colorful nudibranchs, turtles, cuttlefish, and eagle rays can be spotted during dives. In Oman, all the underwater creatures are also somewhat larger than elsewhere. Visibility can vary between 5 and 20 meters due to the nutrient-rich water and temperature layers, but the abundance of fish more than makes up for it.Services:Flight from/to Vienna to MuscatTransfer: Airport – Boat – Airport7 nights with full board on the ship, snacks, coffee, tea, and water3–4 dives per dayNitrox & 15-liter tank (additional charge)Dive Tank, Air & Weight, Dive GuidesTravel Companion: JürgenDeadline: October 17–24, 2026Trip price:Below-deck cabin: 2,590,-Upper Deck Cabin: 2,690,-Master Cabin: 2,890,-Prerequisites:min. Cenote diving in Mexico

Cenote diving in Mexico

Mexico borders the USA to the north, the Pacific Ocean to the south and west, Guatemala, Belize and the Caribbean Sea to the southeast, and the Gulf of Mexico to the east. Playa del Carmen is located on the Mexican Caribbean coast, the so-called Riviera Maya, 70 km south of Cancún airport. The small, family-run hotel with its beautiful pool area is located in the middle of Playa del Carmen and despite its proximity to the center, it is very quiet and invites you to relax. The beach, many restaurants, bars, stores and supermarkets are just a few minutes' walk away. The Spanish word "cenote" originally comes from the Mayan word "dznot" and means "sacred water". The Yucatan Peninsula is basically a huge sponge soaked full of the clearest fresh water. Cenotes have been formed by the dissolution of limestone, creating caves and underground watercourses. Visibility of over 100 meters can be achieved, making diving an unforgettable experience. In many caves, salt water is pushed in from the sea and from a depth of 10 meters a layer forms between the salt water and fresh water in which the water mixes, the so-called "halocline", which appears like a surface in the water both upwards and downwards in its untouched state and conjures up a white line on the limestone when illuminated accordingly with a diving lamp! In general, the mix of stalactites, stalagmites and columns, as well as the light effects created by the sun, the view from the depths through the surface into the jungle, the mirror effects of the rocks in the shallow water to the surface and the "halocline" in combination with over 100 meters of visibility, is an absolute experience, especially for the spoiled, experienced diver. All cenotes are different and have their own charm and beauty and are sure to guarantee a big grin on your face after diving. Services: Transfer airport - hotel - airport deluxe double room with shower/WC/AC 14 nights with breakfast 18 cenote dives (9 days) incl. drinks/snacks Dive tank, weights and torch on loan Travel companion: Jürgen
