With the SSI Deep Diving specialty, you’ll learn everything you need to dive between 18 and 40 meters deep through a combination of classroom sessions and open-water dives. You’ll learn how to safely plan and complete deep dives and how to use dive computers and gas consumption calculations to get the most out of your deep dives. Upon completion, you’ll earn your SSI Deep Diving specialty certification and be able to explore deep dive sites wherever you go. This SSI specialty is a prerequisite for some advanced diving programs, making it the most recommended next step in your diving training.

SSI’s Perfect Buoyancy specialty is ideal for improving your buoyancy and getting the most out of your dives. Buoyancy is a fundamental skill, but if you ask any experienced diver, they’ll tell you that it takes time to master it. With the SSI Perfect Buoyancy specialty, you’ll learn advanced buoyancy techniques and skills so you can quickly master your buoyancy and enjoy relaxed dives. In this program, you’ll also learn new skills that will help you protect the environment and that you can use in any diving situation. Upon completion, you’ll earn the SSI Perfect Buoyancy specialty certification. Once you’ve perfected your buoyancy skills, you’ll be able to float effortlessly and take incredible underwater photos.

In this specialty program, you’ll acquire the advanced skills and knowledge you need to navigate underwater with complete safety and confidence. In addition to the main navigation techniques and basic navigation patterns, you’ll learn how to use a compass, calculate distance, and navigate from and back to a specific point. You’ll also learn to combine different navigation techniques to enhance your diving experience. This will help you hone your underwater observation skills, improve your safety while diving, and get the most out of every dive. Upon completion, you’ll earn the SSI Navigation Specialty certification.

Night diving requires different skills than daytime diving. The Night Diving and Limited Visibility specialty course is perfect for learning how to dive at night and practicing the techniques needed to become a safe and confident night diver. In this program, you’ll learn all the skills and knowledge necessary to dive safely and comfortably at night or in limited visibility. Through a combination of online learning and open-water training dives, you’ll learn how to enter and exit the water, use specialized equipment, and communicate with your buddy at night or in limited visibility. Upon completion, you’ll earn the SSI Night Diving and Limited Visibility specialty certification and be prepared to dive at night or in limited visibility conditions.

As a Nitrox Diver, you’ll be able to extend your bottom times and safety margins, as well as reduce surface intervals, so you can spend more time diving and less time waiting. In this program, you’ll learn new skills and expand your diving knowledge. In addition, you’ll learn how to plan and dive safely with enriched air mixtures containing up to 40% oxygen. Upon completion, you’ll earn the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification.

With SSI’s Diver Stress & Rescue specialty program, you’ll learn the skills necessary to protect yourself and your dive buddies. Not only will you learn to identify stress and prevent accidents, but we’ll also teach you practical techniques for performing rescues and providing assistance in emergency situations. By combining practical sessions in the pool and in open water, this program thoroughly prepares you to handle emergency and rescue situations with confidence. Upon completion, you’ll earn the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty certification.

You will try Deep Diving and Navigation plus a variety of 3 more specialty areas of choice before committing to full specialty training. It is a great way to experience what advanced diver training is all about and how valuable it can be to your diving adventures. During the Advanced Open Water Diver Program, you will experience 5 different specialties by completing one open water training dive per specialty after a comprehensive briefing with your SSI Instructor. By taking this program you will have total freedom to explore. You can complete the full Specialty trainings any time in the future and credit your Advanced Open Water Diver training towards them.

React Right is SSI’s first aid and emergency response course: it provides you with the training and knowledge you need to act as a first responder in a medical emergency. This diving program is completely flexible, so you can choose the topics that interest you, such as primary care, first aid, CPR, and primary stabilization techniques. You can also learn the basics of automated external defibrillation (AED) and oxygen administration in emergency situations while diving. This program, which combines classroom sessions and hands-on training scenarios, gives you the tools and confidence you need to respond effectively. Once you earn your certification, you’ll be able to respond to and administer first aid, CPR, and oxygen, and provide assistance with an AED in the event of a medical emergency.
