The SSI Extended Range Trimix training program is the core program that all other open-circuit programs build on. This program is the start of your exciting journey to become an accomplished tech diver. Using either a sidemount or twinset configuration, this program prepares you to plan and conduct trimix decompression dives to a maximum depth of 45 meters. You will learn the techniques and procedures for using trimix breathing gases and nitrox mixtures of up to 100% oxygen for decompression. You will earn the SSI Extended Range Trimix diver certification after completing this program and gain new tech diver knowledge.

If you want to make the most of your bottom time and have more fun on your dives, try underwater scooter or diver propulsion vehicle (DPV) diving. In this underwater scooter and DPV course, you will learn the skills and concepts you need to safely plan and conduct dives using scooters or DPVs. You will learn the special precautions needed for using DPVs, how to maintain buddy contact and how to control your equipment, so you can safely enjoy the new dive experiences DPVs provide. Upon completion of this program, you will earn the SSI Scooter/DPV Diving specialty certification and be able to dive up to 30 meters deep with a scooter or DPV.

SSI’s Extended Range Foundations program offers you the opportunity to improve your advanced diving skills in a workshop setting. Learn more about using technical diving equipment with any full-body diving system for which you are certified, and develop your basic skills to master buoyancy, trim, finning techniques, positioning, and communication. The Extended Range Foundations program provides supplemental training to your existing certifications to improve your confidence and control in the water. All in-water sessions take place in a pool or confined-water environment at depths of less than 12 meters. You’ll earn the SSI Extended Range Foundations certification upon completing this program.
