Open Water Diver CHECK OUT DIVES: LOCAL

This globally recognized certification program is the best way to begin your lifelong adventures as a certified scuba diver. Personalized training and in-water practice sessions ensure you have the skills and experience required to become truly comfortable underwater.

This is the final step in obtaining your SSI Open Water Diver certification. Five dives over the course of two days. Saturday at Lake Thurmond, Sunday at the Savannah River (conditions permitting).

(If you're not a current student with our dive center and would like to upgrade your referral certification to OWD, please call to reserve your spot.)

The price includes: 5 training dives, Equipment (BCD, regulator, cylinders, and wetsuit), and lunch on both days.
Does not include: a mask, snorkel, fins, boots, gloves, weights, weightbelt, SMB, or logbook. (Neptune students are required to have this equipment to participate in the course.)

Remember to bring proof of completion on Sunday!How to Support Local ConservationWe will be collecting donations for the Savannah Riverkeeper of Augusta to support their local waterway cleanup efforts.Cash Donations: Accepted at the check-in tent on event day.Online Donations: Scan the QR code at check-in. Please add the note: "In Honor of Neptune Dive & Ski - Blue Oceans Program".What to BringReusable Water Bottle: Help us eliminate single-use plastics! We will have water and electrolyte refilling stations on site.Non-Divers: Closed-toe shoes are required for shoreline safety. Please also pack a rain jacket or umbrella in case of light showers.Divers: Along with all your dive equipment, bring a dive mesh bag/net to collect underwater debris.Event Day DetailsCheck-In & Check-Out: Upon arrival, visit the check-in tent to sign your volunteer waiver, show your Blue Oceans completion proof, and make your donation. Please remember to check out at the tent before leaving.Refuels & Refreshments: Neptune will provide complimentary breakfast snacks (mini muffins, clementines, bananas, and apples) alongside water and electrolyte refill stations.Weather Policy: In the event of severe weather, the cleanup may be postponed.
