The internationally recognized SSI Lifeguard program is the best way to become a professional lifeguard for pools or waterparks. With personalized academic and in-water training, you will learn all you need to supervise, assist and rescue victims in pool and waterpark environments. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Lifeguard certification and be ready to join a professional lifeguard team. Detailed Course Description:Each participant is trained in pool life-guarding based on international standards set by Scuba Schools International (SSI). This is a 2 days course consisting of lifesaving from outside and inside the pool, classroom & e-learning sessions about the responsibilities, abilities, risks and dangers lifeguards are confronted with in this professional context. Main topics covered during this course are: water safety responsibilities, prevention, rules & procedures, recognizing dangerous situations or behaviors of swimmers/guests inside and beside the pool, safe and appropriate use of rescue equipment, life saver swim and rescue skills needed to save conscious and un-conscious victims (including suspected spinal injuries) in a shallow or deep water setting as well as communication standards and team-work amongst lifeguards and water safety attendants. Pre-requisite (water fitness test) to joining this course is being able to: Surface 400m swim in 9:30min, rescue approach swim of 50m in 60sec, underwater 25m swim on a single breath. Last not least the candidates are required to provide proof of first aid, CPR, AED and oxygen administration skills. If no valid proof can be provided, it is advised to join a SSI React Right Course prior to this lifeguard course.
