As a Nitrox diver, you can extend your bottom times or safety margins and, of course, shorten surface intervals—so you can spend more time exploring the dive sites you love most and less time waiting! In this program, you’ll learn new skills and expand your diving knowledge while learning how to safely plan and dive with enriched air mixtures containing up to 40% oxygen. Upon completion, you’ll earn the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification.

As a drysuit diver, you can dive in cold waters year-round while staying warm and comfortable. Only dry suit diving opens up the unique underwater landscapes of cold water to you: dives among icebergs in the remote Arctic or fascinating places teeming with life despite the cold. Dry suits are also great when diving multiple times a day. Instead of struggling to get out of a cold, wet wetsuit every time, dry suit divers simply leave their suits on. The best way to get into dry suit diving is the SSI Dry Suit Diver Specialty Course. Here, you’ll gain the necessary knowledge and learn all the skills to dive safely and comfortably in a dry suit. This includes handling the specialized equipment as well as learning how to deal with challenging situations and problems involving the dry suit. At the end of the course, you’ll receive the SSI Dry Suit Diving Specialty certification.

The SSI Decompression Specialty teaches you how to dive beyond the no-decompression limits. You’ll learn to plan and execute dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters with limited decompression using your recreational diving equipment and a single decompression cylinder. You’ll learn and practice how to effectively use your dive computer’s features, such as gas switching, gas integration, time-to-reserve, and time-to-surface. Using these computer functions will become second nature, allowing you to make safe limited-decompression dives without spending hours on dive planning. Upon completion, you’ll earn the SSI Decompression Diving Specialty certification and be able to explore stunning deep dive sites or larger wrecks without being limited by traditional no-decompression limits.
