The SSI Scuba Diver is designed for those who do not have enough time to complete the full Open Water Diver program. The program corresponds to the first half of the Open Water Diver program and can be upgraded to the SSI Open Water Diver through additional training and theory units. What can I do after completing the course? The course provides you with the necessary training and experience to be able to dive safely in open waters under the supervision of a dive professional, as you learn all the important diving skills, knowledge and equipment. However, this certificate does not allow you to dive alone with a dive buddy. Throughout your training and afterwards, you will be accompanied by an experienced diving professional who will make sure that you feel safe and comfortable and that nothing happens to you. Certified scuba divers may only dive to a depth of 12 meters when accompanied by a diving professional. After successfully completing your course, you will receive the SSI Scuba Diver certification. Occasionally you see more and more divers who no longer dive with one or two tanks on their back (backmount), but carry the tanks on their side (sidemount). But why do they do this and are there any advantages over the other system? sidemount diving was developed by wreck and cave divers, for whom the most hydrodynamic position possible was important in order to fit through narrow and small passages. In the meantime, more and more divers are discovering the advantages of this diving style, which is characterized by more relaxed buoyancy control and better freedom of movement without the tank on the back. Haven't we all unintentionally been underwater alone - not diving solo. How often has your buddy been out of reach or you've been so distracted while taking photos that you've lost your buddy? Although normally diving with a buddy team partner, there may be reasons why experienced divers choose to dive solo (e.g. underwater photography). It is more common to be involuntarily separated from your buddy while diving. During the SSI Independent Diver course you will learn about the potential risks of solo diving and develop the necessary skills and abilities to dive independently, responsibly, autonomously and safely, while becoming a stronger buddy partner or team member on your dives. Oceans, rivers and lakes are often in motion and things are sometimes lost or deliberately hidden underwater. Finding and recovering such objects is an exercise for advanced divers. It requires thorough planning and careful consideration. Without proper preparation, a search can take much longer than it should or even fail completely. The majority of divers do not even have the slightest idea where to start a search and recovery operation or how to organize one. The SSI Advanced Open Water Diver program allows you to gain new, interesting and practical experience. You can choose five dives individually from a variety of specialties without having to take a full course in those specialties.
If you are not sure how you want to develop as a diver, the SSI Advanced Adventurer course is the best way to improve your diving skills and experience and to find out which specialties might interest you. If one of the dives is from the Deep Diving section, you will extend your depth limit to 30 meters. Your dives will of course be credited if you decide to complete one or more of the specialties. How many times have you wanted to continue your dive, but unfortunately your no-decompression time was reached and you had to surface slowly, or do you just wish you had more safety margins in terms of nitrogen saturation on your dives?
