Participant Requirements, Obligations and Prerequisites

To ensure your safety, comfort and the smooth running of your Open Water Diver SSI training course, you must read and comply with the following requirements and obligations before the start of the activity.

1. Mandatory prerequisites (Prerequisites)

• Minimum age: 10 yearsNote: Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to sign liability waivers.
• Physical and aquatic skills:Ability to swim (200-metre continuous unassisted swim with no time limit); ability to float/maintain a safe position on the water surface for 10 minutes.
• Experience required: No previous certification or registered diving is necessary. This course is designed for complete beginners.

2. Mandatory Documents and Forms (To be completed before D-Day)

Access to the practical part (pool and sea) is strictly conditional on validation of the following elements:

• Completed E-learning theory training: You must have studied all theory modules on the SSI application or website and completed all associated knowledge reviews before the first day of class.
• SSI Medical Questionnaire: You will need to complete and sign the standard diving medical history form.⚠️ IMPORTANT: If you answer "YES" to any of the health questions on the form (e.g. asthma, heart problems, lung history, etc.), you will need to provide us with a medical certificate of no contraindication to scuba diving, signed by a general practitioner or specialist, less than 12 months old. Without this validated document, you will not be able to dive.
• Disclaimers: Must sign standard SSI Acceptance of Risk and Center Liability forms before beginning activity.

3. What to bring (Personal Equipment & Logistics)

Although ChrisDiving provides all high-end technical diving equipment, each participant is responsible for bringing his or her own personal belongings:

???? Personal effects :

• Your swimsuit (ideally worn under your clothes on arrival at the center).
• A bath towel or beach towel.
• A light, dry change of clothes for after diving.
• Sun protection (cap/hat, sunglasses and biodegradable/coral reef-friendly sunscreen).

????️ Administrative documents:

• Valid official identification (passport or identity card).
• Your smartphone or tablet containing the MySSI application installed with your user account active.
• If applicable, your original medical certificate signed by your doctor.

???? Personal diving equipment (Optional) :

• If you have your own basic equipment(mask, fins, snorkel, or dive computer), you are encouraged to bring it along for your own convenience. Your instructors will simply check that it's in good working order before you get in the water. If you don't have anything, don't worry: we provide everything!

Additional Fees, Payment Terms and Contract Policies

1. Pricing Structure and Additional Fees

• What's STRICTLY INCLUDED in the course price:Theory courses (reviews) and practical sessions (protected and natural environments).Full access to the SSI digital teaching kit (E-learning).Registration and issue of your SSI Open Water Diver digital certification card (valid for life).Full rental of your top-of-the-range diving equipment for the duration of the course.Sea outings on our dedicated dive boat.
• Any additional costs (Not included):Bank charges: Any transfer fees or commissions relating to international bank transactions or card payments are the sole responsibility of the customer.Personal expenses: Accommodation, meals, transportation to the dive center, as well as the purchase of eco-friendly sunscreen or tips for the crew are at your discretion and expense.

2. Terms of Payment and Access to E-learning

• Reservation deposit (50%) : To block your session and secure your training dates, a mandatory deposit of 50% of the total course fee must be paid at the time of booking.
• Opening of online courses: No access to digital teaching material (SSI E-learning) will be released or activated until this 50% deposit has been received in full and validated by our team.
• Payment of balance: The outstanding balance (50%) must be paid to the dive center no later than the first day of the course, before starting the first practical session.

3. Cancellation, Modification and Refund Policy

• Strict NO REFUNDS policy: Once a course has been booked and started, no refunds will be given, whatever the cause (withdrawal during the course, inability to complete the exercises, seasickness, change of mind, etc.).
• Cancellation Insurance: It is the sole and strict responsibility of the candidate to take out personal travel insurance or cancellation/interruption insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances (last-minute health problems, cancelled flights, etc.). ChrisDiving will not under any circumstances act as a substitute for an insurance company.

4. Weather conditions

• Course maintenance: Training takes place regardless of weather conditions.
• Adaptation of practice sites: As safety is our top priority, the captain and instructor reserve the right to modify the program at sea if necessary. In the event of extreme or dangerous ocean conditions, dives in the natural environment will be adapted, postponed or switched to protected coastal sites or swimming pools to validate the required skills.
• Any logistical adjustments or postponements due to Mother Nature will be handled as best we can to ensure the continuity of your training, and will not entitle you to any refund or financial compensation.

5. Group Logistics and Minimum Number of Participants

• Guaranteed start: To guarantee the high quality and personalized aspect of our teaching, we work in small groups (maximum 4 students per instructor). Classes are held even if you are the only participant registered for the selected session. No course will be cancelled by ChrisDiving due to lack of participants.
