The Assistant Instructor course is the next logical step on your path to becoming an Instructor, following the Divemaster course. It gives you the chance to gain valuable teaching experience, practice dive briefings, teach theory lessons, and lead practical dive training. If you want to advance your career as an SSI Professional, you can complete the Instructor Training Course, pass the Instructor Evaluation, and qualify as an Open Water Instructor.

Open Water Diver Course

As a deep diver, you have the unique opportunity to discover some of the world’s best dive sites and the most popular marine creatures. There is so much waiting for you in the deep blue sea. Through a balanced combination of classroom sessions and open-water dives, the SSI Deep Diving Specialty course will teach you everything you need to know for dives between 18 and 40 meters. You’ll learn how to plan and conduct your deep-diving adventures safely and how to get the most out of your deep dives using dive computers and gas consumption calculations. Upon completion of the course, you’ll receive your SSI Deep Diving Specialty certification and can explore the most beautiful deep dive sites wherever you want. This SSI Specialty is also a prerequisite for other advanced training courses, making it the next logical step in your diving education.

Night dives require skills that are very different from those needed for daytime dives. The SSI Night Diving & Limited Visibility Specialty course is the best way to learn everything about night diving and practice the techniques needed to become a safe and confident night diver. In this course, you’ll gain all the knowledge and skills needed to dive safely and comfortably at night or in conditions of limited visibility. Through a balanced mix of online learning and open-water dives, you’ll learn how to use specialized equipment, master proper entry and exit techniques, and discover how to communicate with your dive buddy at night and in limited visibility. Upon completion of the course, you’ll receive the SSI Night Diving and Limited Visibility Specialty certification and be ready to dive into the darkness with confidence.

Marine Ecology Specialty Course

The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty course is the best way to learn how to protect yourself and other divers. You’ll learn how to recognize stress, prevent accidents, and apply practical techniques for performing rescues and providing emergency care. Through a combination of pool and open-water training, you’ll be well and safely prepared to handle emergency and rescue situations. Upon completion of the course, you’ll receive the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue Specialty certification.

As a drysuit diver, you can dive in cold waters all year round while staying warm and comfortable. Only dry suit diving opens up the unique underwater landscapes of cold water to you: dives among icebergs in the remote Arctic or fascinating places teeming with life despite the cold. Dry suits are also great when diving multiple times a day. Instead of struggling to get out of a cold, wet wetsuit every time, dry suit divers simply keep their suits on. The best way to get into dry suit diving is the SSI Dry Suit Diver Specialty course. Here, you’ll gain the necessary knowledge and learn all the skills to dive safely and comfortably in a dry suit. This includes handling the specialized equipment as well as learning how to deal with challenging situations and problems involving the dry suit. At the end of the course, you’ll earn the SSI Dry Suit Diving Specialty certification.
